About 1,400 apprentices and university students in work-study programs will start their professional careers at 23 Siemens locations in Germany on September 1. Together with Siemens Mobility and Siemens Healthineers, Siemens is continuing its training program in full despite the coronavirus crisis. Training at Siemens Energy will be continued separately. Nearly 1,190 young people who are being trained for Siemens’ own needs will be joined at Siemens Professional Education by about 190 participants from the company’s external partners.

Siemens and J&K Technology, part of the J&K Group, announce the development of the new CVal software solution for COMOS. J&K Technology, a specialist in cGxP Compliance Services, has developed the CVal solution. CVal is a digital process and plant validation software for use in the pharmaceutical industry, based on the Siemens COMOS Plant Engineering software solution. This involves a wide range of different modules based on the COMOS platform and the COMOS Data Document Management System (DDMS). As a result, this digital application consistently creates greater data integrity, quality, coherence, and topicality.

Siemens Mobility's modern Inspiro trains and Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) Trainguard MT (TGMT) systems have gone into passenger service today on Line 3 of the Sofia Metro. The trains and systems will serve the third metro line of the Bulgarian capital, which was opened today in the presence of the Minister of Transport Rosen Zhelyazkov, the Mayor of Sofia Mrs. Yordanka Fandakova and the Executive Director of "Metropoliten" EAD Prof. Dr. Stoyan Bratoev.

Siemens Smart Infrastructure received an order from Go Bus, one of New Zealand’s largest bus operators, to power two of their bus depots with charging infrastructure for eBuses. The order fulfils two separate Go Bus contracts in Auckland and Christchurch. In Christchurch, 25 electric buses, the city’s first large-scale electric bus fleet, will be charged by Siemens systems. In Auckland, the systems will charge nine buses that will operate on a new electric airport link. The operations are scheduled to start early in 2021.

The Kolping city of Kerpen, located in the German Rhine-Erft district, is planning to become a highly modern innovation center and a technology nucleus in the Rhineland region by 2032 within the framework of the "SpeicherStadtKerpen" project. With the signing of the cooperation agreement by partners innogy Westenergie, Siemens Energy and Stadtwerke Kerpen, the Kolping city with its approximately 70,000 inhabitants has reached another important milestone for this ambitious future project.

Siemens Energy and Beijing Green Hydrogen Technology Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Power International Development Ltd. (China Power), signed an agreement on providing a hydrogen production system for a hydrogen fueling station. Located in Yanqing District, Beijing, one of the three main competition areas for a major sporting event in 2022, the green hydrogen production solution provided by Siemens Energy will help guarantee the hydrogen supply for the public transportation during and after the event. The megawatt green hydrogen production solution is the first of its kind to be built by Siemens Energy in China. The project is expected to be delivered in May 2021.
Siemens Gas and Power GmbH & Co. KG (Siemens Energy) has successfully closed a three billion euros Sustainability Linked Syndicated Multi-Currency Revolving Credit Facility with an international consortium of banks. The loan amounts, whose interest rate is also linked to sustainability criteria, can be drawn in various currencies. The deal also incorporates a Swingline option of one billion euros for funds that can be drawn at very short notice.

Siemens is helping the people of Lebanon rebuild in the wake of the tragic catastrophe of August 4. The company is quickly providing the stricken population with ultrasound systems and a mobile X-ray unit. In addition, Siemens Energy is offering to deliver and operate two gas turbines with a total electrical capacity of about 80 megawatts (MW) free of charge.

Siemens Energy is supplying the
high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) power transmission technology for a further
offshore connection in the German North Sea. A corresponding contract was just
signed by the German-Dutch network operator TenneT and the BorWin5 Offshore
Consortium, consisting of Siemens Energy and Dragados Offshore. In 2025, the
platform BorWin epsilon, which is part of the BorWin5 project, will begin the
low-loss transmission of electricity produced by the EnBW He Dreiht wind farm
off the island of Borkum to the Garrel/Ost converter station around 230
kilometers distant. The transmission capacity of 900 megawatts is calculated to
serve over 1.1 million households with electricity. The project is a further
contribution toward decarbonizing Germany’s energy supply. BorWin5 marks the
seventh HVDC offshore grid connection project undertaken by Siemens Energy in
Germany with TenneT.
