Joe Kaeser, President and CEO of Siemens AG, will take part in the Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC) in Sharm El-Sheikh. On the opening day of the conference, he will outline how Siemens can support Egypt's future development.

Siemens has been awarded the first AHK Education Award from the German-Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK), for implementing its Mechatronic Systems Certification Program in partnership with Abu Dhabi Polytechnic (ADPoly).

In fiscal 2014, Siemens filed 4,300 patent applications – a year-over-year increase of nine percent. In addition, the company intends to boost investments in research and development (R&D) by around €400 million. In fiscal 2014, R&D expenditures totaled roughly €4 billion. Twelve Siemens researchers and developers who together account for more than 900 inventions and 842 granted individual patents played a leading role in the company’s success. They were honored by Siemens as Inventors of the Year 2014 in Munich on December 3.
Siemens invited its shareholders, distinguished guests and employees to plant 15 trees at its new UAE headquarters in Abu Dhabi’s Masdar City, in celebration of 15 years as a local company in the UAE. Siemens LLC was incorporated in 1999.

Siemens has appointed Maximilian Egger as CEO of Siemens S.A.E. in Egypt, effective October 1 2014. Based in Cairo, Egger takes over from Mohamed El-Mahdi, CEO since 2006, who will take up a new position at the company’s headquarters in Germany.

Siemens, the global powerhouse in electronics and electrical engineering operating in the energy, infrastructure, industry and healthcare sectors, has received an order to supply, install and commission major electrical components for the East Delta Electricity Production Company’s (EDEPC) Suez Thermal Power Plant in Egypt. The oil-fired thermal power plant is part of a national plan to enhance the power supply network across Egypt and will be commissioned in June 2016.
Siemens has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Abu
Dhabi Polytechnic (ADP) to further strengthen the goal of increasing
the country’s technical talent pool. Under the terms of the MOU, ADP and
Siemens will collaborate to enrich the curriculum of 75 Emirati
students in the field of Mechatronics.
