Siemens to supply electrical equipment and installation package for new Suez Thermal Power

The project site at Suez is located on the north coast of the Gulf of Suez, on the Red Sea. The scope of Siemens supply covers the whole electrical package including key electrical components such as an uninterruptable power supply (UPS) and all types of cables. In addition, Siemens is responsible for the installation, testing and commissioning of equipment supplied by EDEPC.
The electrical package supplied by Siemens is critical to the enhancement of the power plant’s performance, and has the capacity to increase the flexibility, availability and reliability of the facility.
“Securing this order for EDEPC’s new power plant—one of the largest plants in Egypt—is proof of the trust and confidence placed in our proven and long-standing track record in the power generation sector,” said Emad Ghaly, Country Division Lead for Power Generation, Siemens Egypt. “The Egyptian power plant market is developing dynamically, and more than ever it is crucial that efficient and flexible technologies are employed to meet increasing demand for electricity.
“With our wealth of experience, manpower and our strong local presence, we are in an excellent position to help Egypt to accommodate this growing demand for power,” Ghaly said.
Siemens has been responsible for some of the Middle East’s largest power generation facilities, and for decades has been implementing technology that allows operators to run safe, efficient and reliable power plants, with the lowest possible operating and maintenance lifecycle costs.
