Siemens plants 15 trees at HQ to celebrate 15 years as a local company in UAE

Speaking at the event Dietmar Siersdorfer, CEO, Siemens LLC UAE, said: “We are proud to celebrate this significant milestone with our friends, partners and colleagues. The planting of these trees is symbolic of our commitment to put down roots here 15 years ago, and also of our intention to continue growing as a local company here in the UAE.
“Our 15 trees join the hundreds of millions which have been planted across the UAE as part of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s vision to return the desert to its greener origins. With today’s tree planting ceremony, we are pleased to play our own small part in realizing this vision.”
The trees are Delonix Regia, grown in a local UAE nursery and chosen for their tolerance to dry, salty conditions and ability to provide significant shade. Commonly known as a Flame Tree, when mature they will display striking red flowers and reach a height of four to six meters.
The ceremony took place at the company’s award-winning Siemens LLC UAE headquarters in Abu Dhabi’s Masdar City. For more information on the Platinum
LEED building, which has been designed to showcase the company’s commitment to a sustainable future for the UAE, please click here .
