Siemens debuts new Healthcare Technology for Middle East at International Congress of Radiology

Focusing on the needs of Healthcare in the Middle East, Siemens offered cutting-edge and accessible technological innovations designed to advance human health. With these systems and related solutions, Siemens demonstrates its enduring status as a trusted partner that helps its customers fight the world’s most threatening diseases, elevate quality and productivity in health care, and enable improved access to treatment. These advanced systems feature excellent image quality, high process efficiency, and lower cost of ownership.
Among the healthcare innovations being presented for the first time is the company’s latest 16-slice CT scanner for the entry-level segment: Somatom Scope offers remarkably efficient operating costs over its entire operational lifetime. With this efficient CT scanner for clinical routine, Siemens Healthcare is helping its customers to tackle rising cost pressures in healthcare systems and is enabling access to innovative technologies for radiology patients around the world.
The operating costs can be reduced by up to 35% over the operational lifetime (average eight years) compared with the previous generation of CT scanners. This high cost efficiency means that, in times of limited budgets, the new CT scanner is particularly suitable for private radiology practices and small- to medium-sized hospitals. It covers routine oncological examinations as well as trauma diagnostics, interventional radiology, and vascular imaging.
“Always as a trustworthy partner, Siemens is transforming the delivery of Healthcare services through meaningful innovations. We are working together with our customers to provide solutions that help them adapt to the changing healthcare landscape and enhance patients’ quality of life, resulting in better and more affordable care.” Said Mohamed El-Wetidy, Head of Healthcare, Siemens Egypt.
Engineered to drive efficiency, the Somatom Scope CT scanner automatically selects the optimum scan parameters to run the equipment more efficiently, increase the life of the systems, and enable further savings over the entire operational lifetime.
Within the exhibition, Siemens Healthcare has demonstrated a wide range of products. In the industrial session, Siemens has presented Imaging innovations for tumor treatment. In addition, the company has held a workshop for medical experts to focus on the dose reduction measures and latest technologies to achieve a safe environment to patients and clinicians.
