Polish
provider of transport and logistics services Laude Smart Intermodal S.A. has
just expanded its fleet with the most modern locomotive in Europe: the Vectron
MS. The vehicle colored in pink was handed over in Poznan Franowo near Posen on
February 3rd, 2021. It is the 50thVectron locomotive
from Siemens Mobility in the hands of Polish carriers.

2021–Akiem, the rolling
stock leasing specialist, and Siemens Mobility announce Akiem’s firm order for 20 Vectron locomotives. The order has been finalised as part of a
framework purchase agreement for locomotives, ancillary equipment and services
signed August 2021. With this new contract, Akiem confirms its leadership of the European
leasing market and its ambition to supply European freight and passenger operators with appropriate, efficient rolling stock.

The Vectron Dual Mode locomotive from Siemens Mobility received authorization for operation in Germany from the Federal Railway Authority (EBA) on October 29, 2020. To date, Railsystems RP, Mindener Kreisbahnen GmbH, and Stern & Hafferl have ordered the Vectron Dual Mode. The Siemens Mobility Test Center in Wegberg-Wildenrath has also ordered a locomotive for delivery trips. The dual mode locomotives ordered by DB Cargo in September will also benefit from the authorization.

Railpool, one of Europe’s leading rail vehicle rental companies, has
ordered 20 Vectron MS multisystem locomotives from Siemens Mobility. The locomotives
are intended for service in eleven countries along the Eastern Corridor (Germany,
Austria, Poland, Croatia, Czechia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Bulgaria,
Romania, Serbia). The locomotives will be delivered in several phases beginning
in March 2022. Railpool’s fleet is currently comprised of more than 400 locomotives.
When deliveries of this first order for multisystem locomotives from Siemens
Mobility are completed, Railpool will have a total of 53 Siemens locomotives.

On September 15, 2020, the AC version of the Vectron locomotive received official approval from the Danish safety authority “Trafik-, Bygge og Boligstyrelsen” for operating in Denmark. The approval marks an important milestone for the commissioning of 42 Vectron locomotives ordered by Danish State Railways (DSB) from Siemens Mobility over the last two years. The first three locomotives will be delivered in September 2020.

Siemens
Mobility and Paribus Rail Investment Management GmbH (Paribus), part of the
Paribus Group, have signed a framework purchase agreement and a full-service
contract for up to 30 Vectron Dual Mode locomotives. The investment was
arranged and structured by Paribus for RIVE Private Investment (RIVE), a
private equity investment company headquartered in Paris. Along with the
signing of the agreement, a call was placed for seven locomotives for which Northrail
GmbH, also belonging to the Paribus Group, has already concluded rental
contracts with German railway companies. The seven locomotives, planned for
freight transport in Germany, are to be delivered beginning in September 2021.
Siemens Mobility will provide full service for the locomotives for a period of
up to 20 years.

Siemens Mobility has just sold its 1,000th Vectron locomotive. The anniversary locomotive was ordered by Danish State Railways (DSB). The first Vectron was delivered in 2012, and all locomotives have been built at the Siemens Mobility factory in Munich-Allach. The order from DSB is for eight AC Vectrons. To date, a total of 1,003 Vectrons have been sold to 49 customers in 16 countries.

Railsystems RP GmbH has ordered two Vectron Dual Mode locomotives from Siemens Mobility, marking the first order for the new locomotive that can be operated either as a diesel or electric unit. Siemens Mobility first presented the concept at the InnoTrans 2018.
Less
diesel, less CO2, even greener: DB Cargo is renewing its fleet of shunting and
mainline locomotives and is procuring new Vectron Dual Mode dual-power
locomotives from Siemens Mobility. The framework agreement comprises up to 400
vehicles and investment volume corresponds to well over one billion Euros.The locomotives
of the type Vectron Dual Mode will be delivered with specific adaptations for
the range of applications planned by DB Cargo. The locomotives can be operated
both with diesel and electric power.In September 2020, DB Cargo ordered 100 locomotives, followed by a second call for another 50 locomotives in January 2022.

Germany’s Federal Railway Authority (EBA) has approved the Vectron locomotive for operating in Germany with the European Train Control System (ETCS) Baseline 3. Approval for Sweden has already been received. Additional countries will follow.
