- Plug & play solution comprising Simatic ET 200SP TM ECC PL ST and TM ECC CCS calibration kit for convenient charge controller calibration
- Reduced engineering effort and simplified commissioning of DC fast charging systems for electric vehicles
- Stable charging process and up to 50 percent less servicing required to remedy charging interruptions
Siemens offers charging system suppliers a new plug & play solution, which for the first time enables calibration of the Powerline signal level in line with CCS (Combined Charging System) CharIN Association Implementation Guidelines for the conductive charging of electric vehicles. The solution comprises the Simatic ET 200SP TM ECC PL ST charge controller and the TM ECC CCS calibration kit. When calibrating the signal quality of a DC CCS charge controller using the Siemens solution, there is no need for a spectrum analyzer, which makes the process quicker and easier. Manufacturers of charging stations can also save engineering effort as well as time and costs during commissioning and can reduce servicing to remedy charging interruptions by up to 50 percent. Engineering is in the TIA (Totally Integrated Automation) Portal.
- „Infinite opportunities from infinite data“ is this year's trade fair motto
- Leveraging the full potential of data from merging the virtual and physical worlds
- "Digitalization knows no end"
- Expansion of the portfolio for edge computing in industry
Under the motto "Infinite opportunities from infinite data", Siemens is demonstrating at the "Digital Enterprise Virtual Experience" at Hannover Messe 2021 how the merging of the physical and virtual worlds enables industrial enterprises to act flexibly and sustainably, as they are facing huge challenges: The Covid 19 pandemic has changed markets and requirements almost overnight. Added to this are the growing individualization and the urgent need for more sustainability. This can only be mastered with the help of digitalization and automation. Siemens brings together the data generated in this process in a continuous cycle between the virtual and physical worlds. This enables companies to better understand and use data. Traditional silos between previously separate industrial domains are breaking down and new opportunities for sustainable and flexible production are being created. This enables employees in industrial enterprises to make appropriate decisions based on data or, for example, to react a lot faster to changes such as suddenly increased resource consumption.
In line with the motto "Infinite opportunities from infinite
data", Siemens will be demonstrating at the Digital Enterprise Virtual
Experience how industrial companies can master the rapidly changing challenges
of our time with the help of digitization, automation and intelligent use of
the resulting data. With the Hannover Messe 2021 Digital Edition, the leading
trade fair for the manufacturing industry, energy sector and logistics will
take place completely virtually from April 12 to 16. Siemens is participating
with its own virtual presentation at the trade fair. In an almost real 3D
environment, participants can virtually experience products, solutions and
concrete application examples.

- Siemens supports BioNTech in converting to vaccine production at the Marburg plant
- Key parts of the new Manufacturing Execution System ready to use after only two and a half months
- Digitalization enables paperless documentation of production
The BioNTech SE biotechnology company based in Mainz has converted an existing facility in Marburg for the production of the Covid-19 vaccine in a record time with assistance from Siemens. The production plant has been producing the active substance since February and the vaccine BNT162b2 (also known as COMIRNATY®) since the end of March. BioNTech acquired a production facility for this in the fall of 2020 that was already equipped with capabilities for producing biotechnological substances. Through collaboration with Siemens and the team of experts on site in Marburg, the project timeline for converting the existing facility for the production of mRNA-vaccine was cut from around one year down to five months, whereby the implementation of key parts of the new Manufacturing Execution System (MES) was reduced to two and half months. The new system and end-to-end digitalization of production enable conversion to “paperless documentation of production”, which can immediately fulfill all documentation requirements.
To support their goal of manufacturing quality parts, Toyota Industries Corporation
and Siemens have cooperated to develop artificial intelligence (AI) that can predict
product abnormalities in aluminum die casting, a key process in automotive air
conditioning compressor production.
- Siemens forms strategic cooperation in digitalization with Swire Coca-Cola, to jointly build 18 digital plants in future
- In 2020 Siemens established a global strategic partnership with the Coca-Cola Cross Enterprise Procurement Group (CEPG)
- The Manufacturing Information System (MIS) customized for Swire Coca-Cola successfully launched in Hangzhou and to extended to about 100 production lines in the next two years
- To support Swire Coca-Cola build a group level data collection, analysis and presentation platform with software and hardware products and solutions covering big data, AI and MindSphere
- MIS to become the benchmark and standard for the manufacturing information systems of Swire Coca-Cola worldwide
Siemens and Swire Coca-Cola China Co., Ltd today formed a strategic partnership on digitalization. The two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in fields such as digital plant construction, supply chain intelligent management and training for digital talents, and to jointly build digital plant benchmarks in the beverage industry, aiming to promote digital transformation of Swire Coca-Cola in China and around the world. In addition, the Manufacturing Information System (MIS) customized by Siemens for Swire Coca-Cola has been successfully applied to its digital production line in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province. Upon the implementation of the project, Swire Coca-Cola will unlock an annual production capacity of 550 million cans of Coca-Cola.

- Monitoring of machine conditions with IIoT sensors, gateway and app
- Multisensor transmits vibration and temperature data via Bluetooth to an industry gateway and on to the cloud
- System detects potential incidents through machine learning
Siemens is presenting Sitrans SCM IQ, a new Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solution for Smart Condition Monitoring, at the Hannover Messe 2021. It enables potential incidents to be detected and prevented at an early stage, thus reducing maintenance costs and downtimes, and increasing plant performance by up to ten percent. The wireless, robust Sitrans MS200 multisensors form the hardware basis for installation on machinery such as pumps, gear units, compressors, and drive trains, where they collect vibration and temperature data. Via a Bluetooth connection, this data is sent to the Sitrans CC220 industry gateway where it is encrypted before being transmitted from there to the cloud, in this case the MindSphere industrial IoT-as-a-Service solution. The anomaly detection of the Sitrans SCM IQ system is based on machine learning. It constantly monitors and analyzes all sensor values and detects deviations from the normal operating state in advance. Anomaly notifications are sent via SMS and/or email, depending on the configuration and defined user group. The app can be used to document the anomalies of machinery behavior and makes them available to a specific circle of users. The Sitrans SCM IQ system comprises multisensors, gateway and app, and can be used in all industrial plants with mechanical or rotating components. It is scheduled to be available from summer 2021.
