Siemens Mobility has been awarded a contract by Companhia de
Transportes do Estado da Bahia to install a Communications-Based Train Control system (CBTC), GoA2, on
the extension of Line 1 in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. The CBTC
signaling system will be fully implemented across the approximately
five-kilometer extension that will connect Pirajá to Águas Claras/Cajazeiras,
including two new stations. The full
integration of the extension to the existing Line 1 will provide
for greater availability, enhanced operations, and a better passenger
experience. This contract builds on the already
well-established relationship Siemens Mobility has with the Salvador Metro and
CCR Metrô Bahia.
The Berlin
Transport Association (BVG) and Siemens Mobility have signed a contract for the
construction of a Sicas ECC electronic interlocking at Alexanderplatz subway
station. The new interlocking is to cover the approximately 3.5-kilometer route
between the Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz and Spittelmarkt subway stations. In addition
to the indoor system, the scope of order includes new cables, a cable system
and around 150 K140 signals (main, pre, emergency and protection signals). The
line, which comprises a total of five stations, runs underground on two tracks
in a tunnel with a small clearance gauge. The project, which has a total volume
of around €13 million, will start laying cables in November 2021 and will be
completed in summer 2024.

The Sirius 3RQ1 series completes Siemens Smart Infrastructure’s portfolio of coupling relays for electrical systems in industry and infrastructure. With wide-range supply voltage from 24 to 240V AC/DC, the new force-guided devices are designed for universal use. They are certified up to Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3 and Performance Level (PL) e and approved for very high safety requirements. Among other things, coupling relays are used to amplify or multiply signals to and from controllers. The Sirius 3RQ1 coupling relays can also switch electrical loads directly. Thanks to their force-guided operation in accordance with IEC 60947-5-1 (IEC 61810-3), the devices offer maximum safety for people and systems. They are particularly well suited for use in railroad and signaling applications as well as in elevators and industrial production facilities, making it possible to safely control brakes and doors, for example, and to switch traffic lights, conveyor belts or packaging machines.

Bundesliga match between FC Bayern Munich and FC Augsburg on May 22, 2021 is all
about a good cause – and about the heartbeat of Bayern fans. They will be measuring
their heart rates during the game for #FCBayernPulse, a joint data project from
Siemens and FC Bayern Munich. Siemens will donate
1 euro cent per measured
heartbeat to #WeKickCorona: The initiative was founded by Bayern professionals
Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka to help social institutions that are in
financial difficulties due to the Corona pandemic.

Effective May 1, Annette Kraus (45) will be
the new Chief Compliance Officer at Siemens AG and will head the company’s
global Compliance Organization. She succeeds Martina Maier (54), who is leaving
the company at her own request for personal reasons.

The chargers of Parkraumgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg mbH (PBW) will soon be managed using the E-Car Operation Center (E-Car OC) software from Siemens Smart Infrastructure. The goal is to manage the charging infrastructure in public parking garages and parking lots in a flexible and future-proof manner. The software also allows the administration of power and billing data from charging stations of different manufacturers. This will make it possible to charge electric cars conveniently and flexibly in PBW parking lots – for example, at hospitals or universities – and to pay with a variety of payment systems via Giro-e, using an EC card. Initially, the software will manage about 200 charging stations, with more to follow in the near future.

section of Line 3 of the Bulgarian capital, which was opened on the 24th
April 2020.
The products in Siemens Mobility trains meet the

approved Siemens Mobility Rolling Stock with the IEC 62443 4-1 certificate.
This award confirms, 18 months after the IEC 62443 2-4 / 3-3 certification, the cyber
security throughout the entire product development process.
