Siemens Smart Infrastructure has delivered to the market an essential solution for
accelerating a successful energy transition - the SICAM Enhanced Grid Sensor
(EGS), designed to address the key challenge of distribution network transparency
for grid operators. With only 22 percent of citywide smart grids deemed to be mature
or advanced according to respondents in the recent Infrastructure Transition
Monitor, the new solution will play a pivotal role in digitalizing distribution grids,
enabling grid operators to achieve full network transparency.

Verdantix. The recently launched report “Green Quadrant: Building Decarbonization
Consulting 2024” found that Siemens’ Building X provides a comprehensive
digital suite for building energy performance, backed by energy expertise,
helping customers achieve their sustainability goals.

Siemens Smart Infrastructure, through its German subsidiary Alpha Verteilertechnik, has launched the latest addition to its line of sustainable electrical products. Now, besides conventional control cabinets, customers globally can purchase its SIVACON 8MF1 industrial control cabinet series, made with 100 percent scrap metal sourced from reputable suppliers in Europe and manufactured using wind power. The move supports Siemens’ sustainability goals in the areas of decarbonization and resource efficiency, outlined within its DEGREE framework, with the company following a 1.5°C science-based decarbonization target.

Siemens will release two new products as part of its Gridscale X portfolio at CIGRE Paris Session next week. The new Gridscale X software will enable power utilities, in particular Transmission System Operators (TSOs), to accelerate the energy transition by paving the way towards more flexible and autonomous grid management.

Siemens continued
its profitable growth trajectory again in the third quarter.
Overall, the
company clearly increased its net income and profit margin and thus
demonstrated its financial strength once again. With a sustained large order
backlog, which totaled €113 billion in Q3, and a book-to-bill ratio greater
than 1, Siemens is optimally equipped for the future.

help drive the transition to sustainable urban energy across the city.

- Software to simulate acoustics, orchestral formations and concert hall configurations
Siemens has developed a digital twin especially for large event spaces. The technology makes it possible to realistically reproduce and simulate very precisely a building’s acoustics and structure. The Sound of Science application will be used for the first time in the Großes Festspielhaus – the Large Festival Hall – at the Salzburg Festival. Sound of Science will enable event organizers to virtually explore how acoustics change in different spatial configurations – for example, how adding acoustic panels affects the listening experience – in order to select the optimal acoustic scenario. Orchestral formations on the stage can also be tested and arranged in advance – before a single note is heard in the real world. This approach saves money, resources and time.
