- Siemens Mobility is building seven two-car Mireo Plus H trains powered by fuel cells for Niederbarnimer Eisenbahn (NEB)
- Switching from diesel to hydrogen on the Heidekrautbahn will reduce annual CO₂ emissions by around three million kilos and save 1.1 million liters of diesel
- For Siemens Mobility the first order for a fleet of trains based on hydrogen technology
- The hydrogen fleet will be delivered in the fall of 2024. The trains are planned to operate on the Heidekrautbahn network (RB27) beginning in December 2024.
- The order placed with Siemens Mobility also includes a service and spare parts supply agreement (TSSSA) covering the entire term of the transport contract.
Siemens Mobility has been commissioned by Niederbarnimer Eisenbahn (NEB) to deliver seven two-car Mireo Plus H trains for the Heidekrautbahn network (RB27) in the Berlin-Brandenburg metropolitan region. Equipped with a fuel cell drive system and a lithium-ion battery, this second-generation hydrogen train provides completely CO₂ emission-free mobility.
- Design, supply, testing, and commissioning of the power supply system for Jurong Region Line
A Siemens Mobility led consortium that includes Concord Corporation Pte Ltd. has been awarded a contract by the Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) for the design, supply, testing, and commissioning of the power supply system for the future Jurong Region Line. - Smart Infrastructure (SI) to acquire Brightly, a leader in
cloud-based asset and maintenance management software
-
Perfectly complements Siemens’ digital offerings for buildings, with
strength in asset and energy management
-
Acquisition puts Siemens in pole position to address fast-growing
software market for buildings and built infrastructure
-
Purchase price of USD 1.575 billion plus earn-out
Siemens Smart Infrastructure (SI), the frontrunner in digital buildings, has
signed an agreement to acquire Brightly Software, a leading U.S.-based software-as-a-service
(SaaS) provider of asset and maintenance management solutions. The acquisition elevates
SI to a leading position in the software market for buildings and built
infrastructure. The purchase price is USD 1.575 billion, plus an earn-out. The
acquisition will add Brightly’s well-established cloud-based capabilities across
key sectors – education, public infrastructure, healthcare, and manufacturing –
to Siemens’ digital and software know-how in buildings. It also accelerates the
build-up of Siemens’ SaaS business and enables Siemens and Brightly together to
deliver superior performance and sustainability for built infrastructure. Brightly
is expected to benefit from Siemens’ global presence, while Siemens leverages the
software provider’s footprint in the U.S. market. Siemens will realize significant
synergies between Brightly’s capabilities and its own portfolio with an
expected mid-triple-digit million net present value. The transaction is subject
to regulatory approvals, with closing expected in calendar year 2022. The
acquisition will be EPS
accretive pre-PPA in the second year after closing.
- Siemens to supply fluorine gas-free blue GIS medium-voltage switchgear to Liechtensteinische Kraftwerke (LKW)
- Climate-neutral insulation gas Clean Air replaces the greenhouse gas SF6 and dispenses with all other fluorinated gases
- Investment in climate protection and supply security in Liechtenstein
Liechtensteinische Kraftwerke
(LKW) has chosen sustainable medium-voltage switchgear from Siemens. The new
5-field NXPLUS C 24 system from the environmentally friendly blue GIS portfolio
of Siemens Smart Infrastructure was commissioned by the customer at the
Wiesengasse West substation in Schaan, Liechtenstein. This makes LKW one of the
first grid operators to convert an entire medium-voltage switchgear
installation to the climate-friendly insulating gas Clean Air.
