- Siemens installs its fluorine gas-free, medium-voltage switchgear NXPLUS C 24 blue GIS at Iberdrola
- Climate-friendly insulating gas Clean Air with a global warming potential <1 consists exclusively of natural components of ambient air
- The power distribution solution enhances sustainability and climate protection for Spanish utility
Headquartered in the Spanish city of Bilbao, Iberdrola, one
of the world’s largest electric utilities and the world's largest wind power
producer, aims to become carbon neutral across Europe by 2030. To achieve this
goal, it is systematically implementing its environmentally-friendly and
sustainable business model. To this end, Siemens Smart Infrastructure has been
commissioned by i-DE Redes Eléctricas Inteligentes SAU, the company responsible
for power distribution activities within the Iberdrola Group, to supply its sustainable
medium-voltage switchgear to the northern Spanish province of Burgos. This marks
the first installation of fluorine gas-free switchgear from Siemens’
climate-friendly blue portfolio at a customer site in Spain.
Stadtwerke München (SWM) is
continuing its modernization of the Munich Transport Company’s (MVG) metro
fleet. On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, SWM and MVG took delivery of the first of
a total of 22 type C2 metro trains of the third delivery series (the so-called
2nd option) at SWM’s technical base in Fröttmaning near Munich. There, the
train will now be made ready for operation, undergo extensive tests and be
approved for passenger service.
- Siemens’ trade show motto: “Intelligent intralogistics - experience the flow”
- Digitalization in intralogistics as a decisive competitive advantage
- Highlight: Trade show model of a Dynamic Gapper application demonstrates the benefits possible by connecting the real and digital worlds
Under the motto
"Intelligent intralogistics - experience the flow", Siemens will
present at this year's Logimat in Hall 3, Booth D11, how a comprehensive
digital twin is developed with the Digital Enterprise Portfolio. Simulation based
on a digital twin makes it possible to design applications and processes in
intralogistics in a highly efficient, flexible and intelligent way. Considering
the fact that markets and requirements have changed in the past two years and
the intralogistics industry has to cope with a rapidly growing e-commerce, this
contributes to sustainable competitiveness. Here, increasing inventory turnover
rates with shorter storage periods, small order quantities with high delivery
speeds, rising return rates and short-term increases in delivery quantities
require flexible and scalable intralogistics processes. The new requirements
can be managed with the help of digitalization and automation.
- EWE NETZ installs fluorine gas-free blue GIS medium-voltage switchgear from Siemens in Brake, Germany
- Investment in climate protection and supply security in the region
- Climate-friendly insulation gas “Clean Air” replaces fluorine gas
Siemens Smart
Infrastructure has supplied EWE NETZ GmbH, which operates highly-efficient power
grids in Germany, with its latest environmentally-friendly switchgear
technology. EWE NETZ has now completed a new medium-voltage switchgear
installation in Brake in the Wesermarsch region of Lower Saxony, which includes
seven fluorine gas-free NXPLUS C 24 circuit-breaker panels from Siemens’ green blue
GIS portfolio. This makes EWE NETZ one of the first grid operators in Germany
to switch to the climate-friendly insulation gas Clean Air for an entire
medium-voltage switchgear installation.
- Desigo PXC7 building automation controller enables tailor-made and scalable solutions for larger buildings
- Speeds up and simplifies engineering and commissioning process
- Higher resilience and availability thanks to BACnet Secure Connect communication
After the
launch of the PXC4 and PXC5 controllers for the optimized control of small and
medium-sized buildings, Siemens has added the PXC7 to its Desigo portfolio to
offer even more flexibility to building automation practitioners. This new
addition allows professionals to program heating, ventilation and air
conditioning (HVAC) applications for larger buildings. Thanks to its simplified
integration capabilities, the Desigo PXC7 controller supports
system integrators in providing
a complete automation solution.
Siemens
Mobility is moving its development and production site from Treptow to Berlin
Adlershof. A modern, new building is being constructed at Germany’s biggest
science and technology park on Wagner-Régeny-Strasse in Adlershof. The building
will provide attractive space for offices, as well as production and storage
facilities. A 65-year leasehold has been agreed between BEOS AG and the State
of Berlin for the 26,420 m² site. BEOS AG will assume responsibility for the
entire construction project.
- France’s Derichebourg Multiservices installs 1,200 smart sensors from Siemens company Enlighted, to control HQ’s energy consumption
- Sensors are installed directly in the ceiling lights
- Data from the sensors has the potential to optimize building management, facility management and visitor experience
Derichebourg Multiservices, a provider of facility services for
companies and municipalities, has equipped its new headquarters in Créteil near
Paris with IoT solutions from Siemens subsidiary Enlighted. Enlighted’s smart
sensors are integrated directly into the LED lights in the new office space,
enabling Derichebourg Multiservices
to make significant energy savings to meet its own environmental goals, and
comply with government regulations requiring companies in France to achieve 40
percent energy savings by 2030.
- Automated signaling and electrification systems to be installed on commuter Lines 8 and 9 in São Paulo
- Will provide greater availability, enhanced operations, improved sustainability, and better passenger experience
Siemens Mobility has been awarded two contracts by ViaMobilidade Linhas 8 e 9 to upgrade and modernize the São Paulo metro network. ViaMobilidade is part of the Brazilian infrastructure company CCR Mobilidade and are responsible for all urban mobility projects for the CCR Group in the country. Siemens Mobility will equip Line 8 with an automated signaling system and will install new electrification and traction power systems on both Line 8 and 9. The renewal of both lines will provide for greater availability, enhanced operations, increased sustainability, and an improved passenger experience. These contracts build on the already well-established relationship Siemens Mobility has with the concessionaire and the São Paulo metropolitan transportation network.
