- Key benefits include efficient motion control, flexible machine safety, increased performance, and seamless scalability
- Customers can experience Simatic S7-1200 G2 at the Hannover Messe Siemens booth
For the first time in ten
years, Siemens is announcing a new generation of controllers, available in winter
of 2024, at Hannover Messe 2024. The Simatic S7-1200 G2 controllers are part of
the Simatic controller family. With this new generation of controllers, Siemens
is expanding its offerings and demonstrating how these latest innovations will
make automation and programming easier for customers.
- Standardization will foster collaboration, accelerate innovation, and facilitate the exchange of digital twin models and data
- Collaboration with the W3C working group set to propel the convergence effort, bringing about a unified standard to unlock commercial potential being held back by IoT fragmentation
In a collaborative move
with the W3C Consortium, Siemens and Microsoft have announced their commitment
to converge the Digital Twin Definition Language (DTDL) with the Thing
Description standard from international standards organization, W3C.
- SINEC Security Guard: Intuitive cloud-based software-as-a-service to improve cybersecurity on the shop floor
- Allows users to match vulnerabilities to their OT assets, prioritize them and engage in mitigation measures
- Integration with the cloud-native SIEM Microsoft Sentinel enabled
- Available on the Siemens Xcelerator Marketplace from July 2024
Production facilities are increasingly the
target of cyberattacks. Industrial companies are therefore required to identify
and close potential vulnerabilities in their systems.
To address the need to identify cybersecurity
vulnerabilities on the shop floor as quickly as possible, Siemens has launched a
new cybersecurity software-as-a-service, that will be showcased for the first
time at Hannover Messe 2024.
- Siemens presents innovations in Drivetrain Design and Drivetrain Health at Hannover Messe
- DriveSim Engineer for efficient selection, validation, virtual commissioning, and optimization of drivetrain systems
- Intelligent condition monitoring for a healthy drivetrain with Drivetrain Analyzer Cloud and Drivetrain Analyzer X tools
At
this year's Hannover Messe, Siemens is presenting Siemens Xcelerator for
Digital Drivetrain, its comprehensive and integrated digitalization
offering along the drivetrain value chain comprised of two areas: Drivetrain
Design (dimensioning and simulation) and Drivetrain Health (connectivity and
optimization).

- New product connects Siemens Xcelerator with NVIDIA Omniverse Cloud
APIs to build collaborative, real-time, physically based visualization driven
by generative AI
- At NVIDIA GTC, Siemens and NVIDIA will join with HD Hyundai to
highlight how integrated visualization helps offer greater understanding and
insights
Siemens announced today that it will deepen its collaboration with
NVIDIA to help build the industrial metaverse. Siemens is bringing immersive
visualization powered by new NVIDIA Omniverse Cloud APIs
to the Siemens Xcelerator platform, driving increased use of AI-driven digital
twin technology. At the NVIDIA GTC, Siemens and NVIDIA demonstrated how
generative AI can revolutionize the visualization of complex data, making
photorealism possible, and showcased how sustainable shipbuilder HD Hyundai can
use it to develop new products.
- End-to-end automation and digitalization in intralogistics as a decisive competitive advantage
- NEW: Simove for automated guided vehicles and mobile robots with new features
- NEW: Simatic Robot Pick Pro and Simatic Robot Pack AI for robot systems
Following
the motto "LogiMAT 2024 – experience the flow," Siemens is showcasing
its extensive automation and digitalization portfolio for the intralogistics
industry at this year's Logimat. Intralogistics is the backbone of every supply
chain. Increasing demands for energy efficiency and sustainability as well as
labor shortages and cybersecurity threats require efficient and adaptive
material flow technology. IoT-enabled hardware and software from the Siemens
Xcelerator portfolio cover the entire warehouse operation, including receiving,
transport, storage, picking, packing, and shipping. By leveraging
digitalization, automation, and innovative technologies like the digital twin,
Siemens is improving the efficiency and sustainability of the intralogistics
industry and paving the way for a smart, adaptable, and resilient future for logistics
operations.
- Ultra-fast, multifunctional, parametrizable, and sustainable
- Up to 1,000 times faster, plus wear-free switching
- Multiple functions in one device; each can be adjusted individually
- Up to 80 percent less space required in distribution board, compared to
conventional solutions
Siemens has developed one of the world’s most
innovative circuit protection devices with cutting-edge electronic switching technology.
SENTRON ECPD (Electronic Circuit Protection Device) electronically switches off
circuit faults if errors occur and, if necessary, trips the mechanical
isolating contact downstream. Up to now, disconnection was handled purely
through electro-mechanical elements. “This innovation offers a variety of
benefits and has the potential to revolutionize today’s circuit protection world,”
said Andreas Matthé, CEO of Electrical Products at Siemens Smart
Infrastructure.
