Siemens has signed an agreement to acquire
Supplyframe, a leading Design-to-Source platform for the global electronics
value chain, for USD 0.7 billion. The transaction unlocks significant value for
customers of Supplyframe and Siemens, providing seamless and quick access to
both Siemens’ offerings and Supplyframe’s marketplace intelligence. This will
help customers to reduce costs, increase agility and make highly informed
decisions. The acquisition also strengthens the Siemens portfolio through
Software as a Service (SaaS) – not only in the field of Electronic Design
Automation (EDA) and Printed Circuit Boards (PCB), but also scaling into other
domains and technology fields.

Siemens will be placing smart solutions for the industry-specific implementation of Industrie 4.0 at the heart of its Hannover Messe 2019 presentation under the banner "Digital Enterprise – Thinking industry further!". Over an exhibition space of around 4,000 square meters in Hall 9, Siemens will be showcasing these solutions with an array of new additions to its Digital Enterprise offering designed to enable the digital transformation of the discrete and process industries. By integrating future technologies into its portfolio, Siemens is offering users new and far more extensive scope for leveraging the exponential growth in industrial data. Its offering ranges from the use of artificial intelligence and edge computing through to the factory and process automation of the future. Siemens will also be showcasing integrated energy solutions for network operators and digital enterprises. This comprehensive portfolio allows industrial enterprises of all sizes and sectors to achieve the improved flexibility and productivity they need to address the growing challenges posed by mass customization.
At FC Bayern
Munich’s season finale against FC Augsburg on May 22, Siemens, FC Bayern and
the #WeKickCorona initiative launched a donation campaign with the slogan: #HeartBeatFinal.
The Bayern fans were asked to measure their heartrate during the match using activity
trackers – and make the data available for #FCBayernPulse, a Siemens and FC Bayern
project. Siemens will donate €0.01 per measured heartbeat to #WeKickCorona, an
initiative that supports social institutions. 936,318 heartbeats were measured
during Bayern’s 5-2 win. Siemens will duplicate the achieved donation amount of
€9.363,18 to €18.800.

Siemens Mobility today signed an agreement to divest Yunex Traffic, the international road traffic business, to Atlantia S.p.A. The Managing Board and Supervisory Board of Siemens AG have approved the planned transaction. The purchase price is €950 million (enterprise value). Closing is expected by September 2022, subject to the relevant regulatory approvals. Yunex Traffic is a leader in innovative and intelligent infrastructure and traffic solutions for roads and cities. As a global leader in mobility infrastructure technology and services, Atlantia is a long-term, strategically oriented new owner for Yunex Traffic.

Veronika Bienert (48) will head Siemens Financial Services (SFS), effective
October 1, 2021. As CEO, she will succeed Roland Chalons-Browne (65), who
has successfully led SFS since 2010. Over the course of her international career
at the Siemens Group, Bienert has held several important positions as chief
financial officer (CFO) within Siemens’ international operating business. Andreas
Rudolf (54), who currently heads Siemens Pensions, will – also effective
October 1, 2021 – become CFO of SFS.

Steeped in tradition and moving into the future: On May 7, 1897, Siemens & Halske acquired the first plot of land in Spandau at the location where Siemensstadt, which translates to “Siemens City,” was soon to be built. Now, 125 years later, an inclusive and sustainable future-oriented location will be created on the same site. To get this location ready for the future, two new manufacturing hubs are being built on the site. For the first time, a holistic digital twin will be used to plan, build and operate the overall district. In addition, the relaunch of the Siemensbahn (“Siemens Railway”) light-rail line is on schedule. Beginning in 2029, people will be able to reach the new section of Berlin in a climate-friendly, convenient manner using the “S-Bahn” rapid- transit system. Franziska Giffey, governing mayor of Berlin; Cedrik Neike, a member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and CEO of Siemens’ Digital Industries unit; and Alexander Kaczmarek, Representative of Deutsche Bahn AG for Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, were on hand to mark the important milestone for the new city district.

Siemens and
the charitable association Siemens Caring Hands e.V. are supporting the Stiftung
Bergwacht, a non-profit foundation for mountain rescue services, with a
donation of €500,000. The foundation will use the donation to further develop
the Bavarian Mountain Rescue Service’s Center for Safety and Training in Bad
Tölz, Germany, and thus improve disaster prevention in Germany and Europe. Half
the donation is from Siemens employees and half from Siemens AG. The funds are part
of a donation pool that Siemens set up in 2021 in response to the flood
disaster on the Ahr River in the German states of Rhineland-Palatinate, North
Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria. Over the past two years, €2.8 million from the
pool has been used to support 25 emergency, reconstruction and prevention
projects.
