- Siemens EcoTech empowers industry and infrastructure customers to make informed decisions, advancing progress against their sustainability targets
- Each product that achieves the Siemens EcoTech label has a detailed profile that provides industry-leading levels of transparency
- The new label enables direct comparison of product sustainability credentials to the market standard and predecessor products
Siemens today announces the launch of its
sustainability product label approach – Siemens EcoTech – setting a new
standard for transparency in the industry. Siemens EcoTech gives customers a
comprehensive insight into product performance across selected environmental
criteria. At launch, the Siemens EcoTech label covers a range of products from
across the Siemens portfolio for infrastructure and industrial applications.
The label will be gradually extended to cover additional, relevant Siemens
product families, which meet the stringent criteria.

- Ultra-fast, multifunctional, parametrizable, and sustainable
- Up to 1,000 times faster, plus wear-free switching
- Multiple functions in one device; each can be adjusted individually
- Up to 80 percent less space required in distribution board, compared to
conventional solutions
Siemens has developed one of the world’s most
innovative circuit protection devices with cutting-edge electronic switching technology.
SENTRON ECPD (Electronic Circuit Protection Device) electronically switches off
circuit faults if errors occur and, if necessary, trips the mechanical
isolating contact downstream. Up to now, disconnection was handled purely
through electro-mechanical elements. “This innovation offers a variety of
benefits and has the potential to revolutionize today’s circuit protection world,”
said Andreas Matthé, CEO of Electrical Products at Siemens Smart
Infrastructure.

- Gridscale X Network Model Manager enables better grid planning, operations and maintenance for ISOs and TSOs with a Digital Twin
- The software is cloud ready as well as fully accessible via APIs, and comes with a modular architecture and cutting-edge user interface
- Gridscale X Network Model Manager is the next generation of Siemens’ network model management offerings and part of Siemens Xcelerator
Siemens has announced the launch of new Gridscale X software with the release of a Gridscale X Network Model Manager in the US and Canada. The product allows ISOs (independent system operators) and TSOs (transmission system operators) to centrally manage their network data with a Digital Twin of the power grid for more efficient planning, development and operations.
- Siemens’ next generation grid management software, Gridscale X™ DER Insights, supports goal to achieve net-zero emissions in the US by 2050
- The software provides better visibility of behind the meter distributed energy resources (DERs) and their impact on the grid
- These insights are critical for better grid planning and asset health, and
ensuring the success of customer programs
- Gridscale X DER Insights is part of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio
Siemens has announced its latest Gridscale X software offering enabling distribution utilities
to gain better visibility and insights of distributed energy resources (DERs) behind the meter
to increase grid capacity. With the rising number of DERs, this causes operational
challenges for distribution networks not originally designed to operate with these resources.
Gaining insights into where they are and how DERs are operating is a critical first step in
addressing the problems and subsequently taking advantage of these resources for grid
optimization.
