For the first time, Siemens has achieved the highest possible score in the Carbon
Disclosure Project (CDP), the world’s largest climate-protection survey. For the
transparency of its reporting on the opportunities and risks associated with climate
change, the company received 100 (2014: 99) out of 100 possible points. In addi-
tion, Siemens’ efforts to achieve energy efficiency and cut CO
2 emissions enabled
the company to reach Band A, the highest performance range. As a result, the com-
pany is also included in the Carbon Performance Leadership Index.

A consortium comprising Siemens and El Sewedy Electric T&D has signed a contract with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) for the construction of six state-of-the-art substations.

The Siemens Integrity Initiative will provide funding worth US$880,000 over three years to the Pearl Initiative for a Collective Action project to raise awareness and encourage the adoption of integrity practices in businesses across the GCC. The Pearl Initiative project was selected out of more than 180 project proposals from well-known non-profit organizations from about 60 countries on the second funding round.

Siemens has received an order to supply six gas turbines, four steam turbines and ten generators for a new combined-cycle power generating facility in Qatar with an integrated seawater desalination facility. Siemens' customer is Samsung C&T, which is building the entire complex together with its consortium partner Hitachi Zosen. The end-customer is the project company Umm al Houl, a consortium comprising the Qatar Foundation (QF), Qatar Petroleum (QP), Qatar Water and Electricity Company (QWEC), Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) and Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco). With a total electrical output of 2.5 gigawatts, and up to 136 million imperial gallons (618 million liters) of drinking water per day, the plant will deliver almost one quarter of the nation's installed power generating capacity. It will ensure adequate power and water supply to accommodate seasonal fluctuations and major events. Commissioning of the first phase is scheduled for 2017, with commissioning of the entire complex scheduled for mid-2018.
- Siemens to provide service for nine aero-derivative gas turbines and compressors for gas compression at the Dolphin Gas Project in Qatar
Siemens has signed a contract with Dolphin Energy Limited, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, to extend for an additional 18 years the existing service agreement for aero-derivative gas turbine trains operating at the Dolphin Gas Project. Under terms of the new agreement, Siemens will provide service and maintenance for the nine industrial Trent 60 aero-derivative gas turbines with nine Dresser-Rand DATUM® centrifugal compressors operating at Dolphin Energy’s gas compression and processing plant, located at Ras Laffan, Qatar. The project was the world`s first Trent gas turbine mechanical drive installation. The contract will be managed locally through the Siemens Qatar team both at Dolphin Energy Tower in Doha and at the main operational site at Ras Laffan Industrial city.

Siemens has been awarded a major order by Qatar’s state-owned utility Qatar General Water & Electricity Corporation (KAHRAMAA). As part of the national project to expand Qatar’s power distribution network, Siemens will deliver 18 turnkey substations to supply power and help to cater for increasing electricity demand. Siemens’ technology is supporting KAHRAMAA with continuous improvements to its infrastructure in order to meet the country’s goals for a successful World Cup in 2022 and the Qatar Government’s vision for 2030. The order is valued at €470 million, and completion of the project is scheduled for 2017.
