company in Poland, has signed an agreement with Siemens Mobility for the
purchase of 90 Vectron MS locomotives, of which 30 have been immediately called
up. Additionally, a second contract was signed for the delivery of ten Smartron

and 18 Smartrons in its fleet.
- Premiere of the new locomotive generation at DB Cargo
- Siemens Mobility's new dual-mode locomotive makes rail transport more efficient, faster, and digital
- Around 150 "Vectron Dual Mode light" locomotives will enable CO2-free supply chains right down to the last mile
A new generation of locomotives has been unveiled that will make DB
Cargo's fleet more efficient and powerful in the future. The “Vectron Dual Mode
light” combines electric and diesel drive for adaptability in freight
transportation. The modern hybrid locomotive can easily switch between electric
and diesel operations. It helps avoid time-consuming shunting and maneuvering, and
can be used flexibly, with or without overhead lines.
- Initial fixed call for 60 locomotives
- Delivery beginning in 2025
European Locomotive Leasing Group
(ELL), based in Vienna and Munich, and Siemens Mobility signed a framework
agreement for the delivery of up to 200 further Vectron locomotives.
Specifically, the locomotives will be provided in various power system variants
for use in both passenger and freight service. Sixty locomotives were initially
ordered and will be delivered successively beginning in 2025. This fourth
framework agreement between ELL and Siemens Mobility further reinforces the
long-standing and strong partnership between the two companies. By 2027, ELL
will have at least 301 Siemens Vectron locomotives in service and thus operate
Europe’s largest Vectron fleet. Over the medium term, the new agreement offers
ELL the possibility of increasing its Vectron fleet to over 400 locomotives.

- Snälltåget
implements Sqills S3 Passenger from Sqills, a subsidiary of Siemens Mobility
- Implementation
to support with longest night train route in the EU
- Increased
capacity, improved passenger experience
Swedish open-access rail operator Snälltåget has announced
that it will be implementing S3 Passenger, the dynamic pricing, inventory management,
and reservation system offered by Sqills, a Siemens Mobility
subsidiary. Snälltåget
and Sqills have opted for a phased approach in terms of
implementation: The Swedish operator will benefit from a short time-to-market
while adding more functionalities in the months after go-live. One feature that
Snälltåget will be using from the start is the support for cross-operator
cooperation as a way for providing through tickets. This will further improve
passenger comfort when booking long-
distance trips. S3 Passenger is based on the
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model and is part of the open, digital business
platform, Siemens Xcelerator, that enables customers to accelerate their
digital transformation easier,
faster and at scale.
