- Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli uses Siemens Xcelerator as a Service to accelerate development of the ultimate AC75 America’s Cup yacht
- Cloud-based collaboration is used to manage increased design complexity and improve manufacturing repeatability, in and out of season
- The team leverage the power of high-performance computing (HPC) clusters, running thousands of simulations per day to explore new designs
Siemens Digital Industries Software
announced today that the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli America's Cup team is using the
Siemens Xcelerator portfolio of software and services to design, simulate and
optimize its racing yacht for the forthcoming America’s Cup challenge (37th
America’s Cup).
- Design freedom in additive manufacturing reduces carbon footprint of gripper solutions in the automotive sector by around 80 percent
- Decentralized production and optimized factory planning using digital twins reduce CO2 emissions during production and transport
- 3D printing with biodegradable materials reduces pollution
At this year's Formnext, the international trade fair for additive manufacturing, Siemens is demonstrating what sustainable additive manufacturing looks like. Using several use cases, the technology company shows how resources, carbon footprint and environmental impact can be reduced. For this purpose, the entire value chain of a product must be considered transparently. Then climate targets can be achieved, and an environmentally friendly industry can be designed.
- Siemens and GENERA join forces to industrialize the AM technology Digital Light Processing (DLP) from single machines to factory solutions
- Siemens’ portfolio of IoT-enabled hardware, software and digital services will further propel GENERA’s fully automated clean DLP technology
GENERA, a global
leader in highly automated resin based additive manufacturing technologies, and
Siemens are cooperating in a comprehensive partnership. The aim is to
accelerate the adoption of the Digital Light Processing Technology for
large-scale production of industrial applications. The sweeping collaboration
will touch many aspects of GENERA`s business and is going to benefit end-users
in a variety of ways.
- Higher engineering efficiency thanks to more functionalities for team collaboration
- IT/OT integration thanks to extension with the IT-oriented approach of Simatic Automation Xpansion (Simatic AX)
- Advanced engineering of kinematics (5D/6D)
- Maximum availability in through R1 redundancy
At the SPS trade fair
in Nuremberg from November 8 to 10, Siemens will present Version 18 of its
engineering framework TIA Portal (Totally Integration Automation Portal). If
industrial companies are to shorten their time-to-market, counteract the lack
of skilled workers, and remain competitive, they need efficient automation
engineering that can be quickly modified to meet new requirements. That’s why
the new version of the TIA Portal once again boosts engineering efficiency and
offers optimized functionalities for multi-user engineering. This means that
users can now work in teams and in parallel on projects and build and manage
shared libraries. Access rights can be assigned either individually or
group-specifically, which makes collaboration more flexible.
Under the motto
"Make it real", Siemens will be
presenting at SPS in Nuremberg on how the real and digital world can be
combined so that companies become Digital Enterprises. Experience the Siemens solutions and experts
live at the SPS booth (Hall 11) in Nuremberg and
learn more about how they support costumers in the digital transformation.
- More openness: Digital business platform Siemens Xcelerator accelerates digital transformation
- More IT/OT integration: New management system for Siemens Industrial Edge
- More sustainability: Application
Analyze MyDrives Edge creates Transparency of energy consumption of drive systems
At the
Smart Production Solutions (SPS) fair in Nuremberg, Germany, November. 8-10,
Siemens will be presenting technical innovations and practical examples for
greater sustainability in production. Easier, more open, more flexible and more
sustainable production and planning processes – all of this is achieved through
end-to-end automation and digitization to become a digital enterprise.
- Industrial Edge Management System (IEM V2.0) for Kubernetes clusters addresses IT users in production and saves IT resources, energy and costs
- Industrial Edge Hub provides greater license management visibility
- New virtual edge device and new Simatic IPC edge devices offer more flexibility when implementing IIoT applications
Siemens is
launching its new Industrial Edge Management System, an optimized license
management solution as well as new devices and apps at the SPS trade fair in
Nuremberg, Germany from November 8 to 10, 2022. As part of the company’s
continuous development of its Industrial Edge capabilities, these solutions
bring Operational technology (OT) and IT closer together in industrial
production, enabling a seamless flow of data from the field level to the cloud.
- Scalance XC/XR-300 series with compact and 19-inch rack models
- Next-generation industrial networks connect OT and IT for more flexible and secure production
- New switches will support Time-Sensitive Networking
- Siemens is presenting the new series for the first time at this year's SPS trade fair from November 8 to 10, 2022 in Nuremberg
The increasing networking of machines, controls and IT systems in industrial plants leads to increasingly complex networks at the production level. To ensure reliable data exchange, high-performance Industrial Ethernet Switches with a high number of ports and data bandwidths are required. To this end, Siemens has now renewed the Industrial Ethernet Switches of its Scalance XC-/XR-300 series and upgraded them with additional functions for next-generation industrial networks. So-called managed Layer 2 switches from the Scalance X Industrial Ethernet Switch product family are now available – both as compact models and as 19-inch variants for control cabinets. The new switches thus replace the portfolio of the current Scalance X-300 series and carry the model designation Scalance XC-/XCM-300 in the compact version and Scalance XR-/XRM-300 in the 19-inch version.
