Siemens Smart Infrastructure has launched Electrification X, a highly scalable Internet-of-Things (IoT) SaaS offering to transform electrification infrastructure. 

• Standardization will foster collaboration, accelerate innovation, and facilitate the exchange of digital twin models and data
• Collaboration with the W3C working group set to propel the convergence effort, bringing about a unified standard to unlock commercial potential being held back by IoT fragmentation

In a collaborative move with the W3C Consortium, Siemens and Microsoft have announced their commitment to converge the Digital Twin Definition Language (DTDL) with the Thing Description standard from international standards organization, W3C.

SENTRON ECPD (Electronic Circuit Protection Device) electronically switches off circuit faults if errors occur and, if necessary, trips the mechanical isolating contact downstream. Siemens has announced the launch of new Gridscale X software with the release of a Gridscale X Network Model Manager in the US and Canada. The product allows ISOs (independent system operators) and TSOs (transmission system operators) to centrally manage their network data with a Digital Twin of the power grid for more efficient planning, development and operations.
