- Charging infrastructure for 14 new electric buses
- Fast charging units at three terminal stations
- Charging infrastructure and digital depot management solution at the bus depot
Siemens has been awarded a contract by Bernmobil, the Swiss capital’s public transport company, to supply charging infrastructure solutions for the operation of 14 new electric buses. These are to be deployed on Lines 19 and 21 beginning in early 2023. The project includes fast charging units at three terminal stations as well as charging infrastructure for the Eigerplatz bus depot. To optimize operations, a cloud-based depot management solution from Siemens will be used as software-as-a-service.
- Scalance MUM856-1 connects local industrial applications to public 5G, 4G, and 3G mobile wireless networks
- Router supports future-oriented applications such as remote access via public 5G networks or the connection of mobile devices such as automated guided vehicles in industry
- Robust version in IP65 housing for use outside the control cabinet
- Prototypes of Siemens 5G infrastructure for private networks already in use at several sites
The Scalance
MUM856-1 – the first industrial 5G router from Siemens – is available now. The
device connects local industrial applications to public 5G, 4G (LTE), and 3G
(UMTS) mobile wireless networks. The router can be used to remotely monitor and
service plants, machines, control elements, and other industrial devices via a public
5G network – flexibly and with high data rates. Demand for this type of
solution is growing in industry. In addition, the device can be integrated into
private 5G networks. The Scalance MUM856-1 therefore supports future-oriented
applications such as mobile robots in manufacturing, autonomous vehicles in
logistics or augmented reality applications for service technicians. Thanks to
a robust IP65 housing, the router can also be used outside the control cabinet,
for example under harsh conditions in production or in outdoor facilities in
the water industry.
- Mercedes-Benz and Siemens to expand the digitalization of sustainable production methods, expanding a long-standing successful cooperation in the field of engineering and production
- Partnership to develop innovative solutions for the qualification of employees, digitalization and for increasing energy efficiency in production
Mercedes-Benz and Siemens plan to cooperate on advancing digitalization and automation in the automotive industry, supported by the State of Berlin. Mercedes-Benz AG aims to digitize its production processes. Siemens, a leading supplier in the field of automation, industrial software and smart infrastructure, will bring its expertise and technologies to the partnership to develop highly flexible, efficient and sustainable automotive production together with Mercedes-Benz.
- Frame sizes 1,200 A, 1,600 A and 2,000 A
- Enhanced safety features
- Fully integrated communication and measurement features
- Smart features for planning and operation
Siemens has developed new, highly flexible
molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) frame sizes for high current applications to
perfectly address the needs of switchgear manufacturers and panel builders in
an environment, characterized by increasing complexity, digitalization, and
cost pressures. The new 3VA UL Large Frame MCCBs enable users to implement
powerful, safe, and smart systems while allowing them to improve and greatly
simplify their work processes. These 3VA UL Large Frame
MCCBs can be used worldwide. The 1,200 A and 1,600 A frame sizes meet the
requirements of IEC and UL standards. This is particularly advantageous for
manufacturers who are producing systems destined for global markets. The new 2,000
A frame is designed exclusively for the UL market. The new frame sizes will be available
in both thermal-magnetic and electronic trip unit versions. Molded case switch (MCS)
variants will also be offered.
- Storage enabled intelligent microgrid concept to accelerate decarbonization and significantly increase renewables share
- Energy storage system enables greater energy independence
- Frequency regulation increases Madeira’s grid resilience
- Plant to provide blackstart capability to the 60 kV level
Siemens Smart
Infrastructure, in partnership with Fluence, are working to help the Portuguese
island of Madeira gain greater energy independence and grid resilience using
renewable energy. Madeira’s energy provider, Empresa de Electricidade da
Madeira (EEM), awarded a Siemens and Fluence consortium a contract to install a
22,5 MVA / 15,6 MVh battery storage plant which will be integrated into an
islanded microgrid concept. The project will enable
EEM to optimize its renewable energy integration, significantly contributing to
increasing the share of renewable power to around 50 percent in its energy mix.
As a result, the island can reduce its fuel consumption over the next two to
three years, while gaininggreater energy independencewithout
affecting energy quality or grid stability.
- Corporate real estate management now also for external customers
- Renting, development and consulting in focus
- Intelligent real estate in close cooperation with other Siemens units
Siemens Real Estate (SRE) has been managing Siemens' real estate portfolio for more than 20 years and, as a versatile and future-oriented corporate real estate manager, has repeatedly adapted to the challenges of the market. Effective immediately, SRE will make the expertise it has acquired available to external clients for the first time. Companies that do not yet have their own professional real estate management will thus have access to SRE's knowledge and experience in the three product groups of consulting, renting and real estate and location development.
