Railpool,
one of the leading rail vehicle rental companies in Europe, and Siemens
Mobility have concluded a framework agreement for the delivery of up to 250
locomotives. With the signing of the contract, 70 Vectron locomotives were
immediately called up. The initial call includes 24 multisystem locomotives for
use in AC and DC networks, as well as 46 AC locomotives. With this order, Railpool's
Vectron fleet will grow to a total of 228 locomotives. The framework agreement
includes Vectron variants that can operate in up to 16 countries and on various
European rail corridors (north-south and east-west).

Siemens Mobility's modern Inspiro trains and Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) Trainguard MT (TGMT) systems have gone into passenger service today on Line 3 of the Sofia Metro. The trains and systems will serve the third metro line of the Bulgarian capital, which was opened today in the presence of the Minister of Transport Rosen Zhelyazkov, the Mayor of Sofia Mrs. Yordanka Fandakova and the Executive Director of "Metropoliten" EAD Prof. Dr. Stoyan Bratoev.

The movement to
modernize regional transport continues to gain momentum: When the timetable
changes in December 2023, 18 new Desiro HC double-decker trains from Siemens
Mobility will inaugurate service for the Franconia-Thuringia Express. With a
top speed of 160 kilometers per hour, 380 seats, spaces for 36 bicycles, WiFi
service, high-frequency windowpanes that significantly improve cellphone
reception, as well as an electronic passenger information system with 27
monitors, the new Franconia-Thuringia Express operated by DB Regio Bayern
offers a special experience for its passengers. The new trains will operate on
many routes in the future, such as between Nuremberg and Bamberg daily between
5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. every 30 minutes in both directions. The trains will
provide over 10,000 additional seats on this route. DB Regio Bayern and
Bayerische Eisenbahngesellschaft (BEG), which plans, finances and controls
regional and S-Bahn transport on behalf of the state of Bavaria, presented the
new train today together with Siemens Mobility at the Bamberg main station,
followed by a press tour through Franconia. The states of Bavaria and Thuringia
are investing a total of €320 million in the new train fleet to expand regional
transport capacities.

Siemens
Mobility Austria GmbH has received an order from ÖBB for additional 27 Siemens
Desiro ML electric trainsets. With this order, ÖBB is continuing to renew its
fleet and investing in modern trains for inner-Alpine transport. ÖBB previously
ordered 246 Desiro ML trainsets and over 200 of them are already in service
throughout Austria.

Siemens Mobility has won the tender for a framework agreement to deliver
up to 540 single-deck electric multiple-unit trains for Austrian Federal
Railways (ÖBB).
The world’s largest trade fair for transport technology – InnoTrans – will be held in Berlin from September 20 to 23. Siemens Mobility will showcase its products in hub 27, booth 230 and in the outdoor exhibition area.

Beacon Rail, a rolling stock leasing company, has ordered 10
Vectron MS multi-system locomotives from Siemens Mobility. Beacon Rail plans to
have the locomotives operate along the Rhine-Alpine corridor and between the
North Sea ports and the European hinterland. This order will give Beacon Rail an
overall portfolio of 170 Vectron locomotives.

The eHighway
system on the B 462 federal highway between Kuppenheim and Gaggenau has been
successfully completed by the consortium of Siemens Mobility and SPL Powerlines Germany,
handed over to the customer, and was officially opened in a ceremony today. The
eHighway technology provided by Siemens Mobility supplies trucks with
electricity, via an overhead contact line, that is used to directly power the
truck and charge its batteries.

Siemens
Mobility presents the Mireo Plus B battery train to the public for the first
time at InnoTrans 2022. The Landesanstalt Schienenfahrzeuge
Baden-Württemberg (SFBW) has ordered 27 Mireo Plus B trains from Siemens
Mobility in 2020. The two-car electric trainsets with
120 seats can operate on rail routes with or without overhead power lines
thanks to their battery hybrid drive and are scheduled to operate in Network 8
of the Ortenau regional system. Delivery of the multiple units is scheduled
between June and December 2023.

system at 68 stations and cover 450 km of Taiwan Railway

Siemens Mobility is pleased to announce that it has
signed a €231 million contract with the Taiwan Railways
Administration (TRA) for the implementation of the “Taiwan Railway Smart
Electrical Systems Upgrade and Signalling Interlocking System Update Project.” The project primarily
consists of replacing existing Relay Interlockings with new Electronic
Interlocking (or EI) Systems at 68 stations that will cover 450 km of the island’s approximately 1110 km
total railway network. As part of this contract, Siemens
Mobility will provide 10 years of maintenance and the customer also reserves
the right to procure EI systems for 10-additional stations. The modernization of the signaling
system will allow the TRA to better optimize the
operation and maintenance of the rail network.
