- Y-turning and Advanced Rapid Movement for even more machine tool productivity
- Reduced Dynamic Mode reduces wear and increases availability
- End-to-end keyboard and machine control panel portfolio from 15 to 24 inches
Siemens is expanding its
offering around the Sinumerik One "digital native" CNC. The new CNC
generation from Siemens, which was introduced to the market in 2019, is also
coming up with innovations in software and hardware this year. With the new
Sinumerik V6.20 software, there are new technology functions for the Sinumerik
One that simplify operation, reduce machine wear, and increase productivity.
Siemens is thus demonstrating once again how the powerful Sinumerik One machine
tool control system can be optimally used for digital transformation in a
highly productive, flexible, and modular way.
- Cooperation draws on Siemens’ portfolio of IoT-enabled hardware, software and digital services – the open digital business platform Siemens Xcelerator
- New initiative builds on long-standing software partnership of both companies
Siemens, a leading supplier in the field of automation and industrial
software, cooperates with Nissan to build production lines for the new
all-electric crossover Nissan Ariya at the company’s plant in Tochigi, Japan. Both
companies build on their long-standing cooperation. Nissan had already been
using the Siemens Digital Industries software portfolio to optimize design and
production. End-to-end digital threads enable Nissan to connect a wide variety
of sources of information across product lifecycle management (PLM) platforms.
- Siemens represented in the Green Innovation Zone and the Digital Hub at the ACHEMA trade fair
- Focus on chemical recycling and hydrogen
- Siemens Xcelerator and the entire Siemens portfolio support sustainability management along the production chain
Sustainability is the leading theme of this year's world's flagship trade fair for the process industry, ACHEMA, in Frankfurt. In the Green Innovation Zone and the Digital Hub at the fair, Siemens will show how industrial companies can efficiently combine digitalization and sustainability. "As one of the main CO2 emitters, the process industry is under particular pressure to produce in a climate-friendly way," says Eckard Eberle, CEO Process Automation at Siemens. "Holistic and effective sustainability management can only work if industrial companies consistently focus on digitalization and automation." In more than 20 lectures and best-practice presentations, Siemens will illustrate how companies can use digitalization and automation and make their products, plants, and processes more sustainable.
- Siemens Xcelerator includes selected portfolio of IoT-enabled hardware, software, and digital offerings as well as a marketplace
- Offerings for the machine tool industry part of Siemens Xcelerator
- Software applications for cloud, edge, and own servers with numerous innovations for the machine tool
- First partner applications based on Industrial Edge for Machine Tools, the open ecosystem for IoT
Under the motto
"Accelerate digitalization for a sustainable tomorrow", Siemens will
be demonstrating at this year's AMB how the enormous potential for optimizing
machine tools can be utilized thanks to the continuous analysis of production
data. With the open digital business platform Siemens Xcelerator, IoT-enabled
hardware and software, the company demonstrates how the real world can be
connected to the digital world. Such a portfolio accelerates the digital
transformation and enables flexible and sustainable action both in the
construction of machines and in their application.
- Siemens supports Skeleton as technology partner in the expansion and extension of the production of supercapacitor cells
- Skeleton plans new supercapacitors factory in Markranstädt, Leipzig, start of production is expected in 2024
- Joint development of a fully automated production line for new factory
- Digitalization of the entire value chain
Skeleton Technologies and
Siemens have agreed on a far-reaching technology partnership for the
development, planning and implementation of a fully automated, digital manufacturing
technology for the production of supercapacitors in Germany. The production
line is to be used in a new Skeleton factory in Markranstädt, Leipzig and will
help to reduce production costs by around 90 percent within the five-year
project. The collaboration aims to achieve the digitization of Skeleton's
entire value chain – from supercapacitor cell design to production and services
– and expand to the production of next-generation supercapacitors. Siemens
supports this with its comprehensive Digital Enterprise portfolio as well as
domain know-how in the area of industrial battery cell production. Furthermore,
it is planned to further expand the business relations between the two
companies.
With the global drive toward climate-neutral aviation gaining pace and the rebirth of interest in supersonic travel, innovations in aircraft configurations require careful and diligent use of aerodynamic and structural design optimization. Siemens Digital Industries Software today announces that it entered into an agreement to acquire ZONA Technology, Inc., a renowned specialist in the field of aeroelastic simulation solutions. The addition of the ZONA Technology, Inc. technology to Siemens’ Xcelerator portfolio will assist customers in making their digital threads as comprehensive and as efficient as possible to help speed innovation, ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of more sustainable aerospace invention.
- Siemens expands its portfolio for digital enterprises services
- Senseye is a leading provider of AI-powered solutions for industrial machine performance and reliability
- Predictive Maintenance use case reduces unplanned machine downtime, boosts productivity and increases sustainability
Siemens is further expanding its portfolio in the field of innovative predictive maintenance and asset intelligence with the acquisition of Senseye. The global industrial analytics software company is headquartered in Southampton, in the UK. Senseye is a leading provider of outcome-oriented predictive maintenance solutions for manufacturing and industrial companies. Senseye’s predictive maintenance solution enables a reduction in unplanned machine downtimes by up to 50%, increased maintenance staff productivity by up to 30%.
- Water model demonstrates the use of digital solutions in real scenarios
- Digital twin in use for more efficiency and process optimization
- Siemens Water applications increase optimization and savings potential in water and wastewater plants
Climate change, urbanisation, water pollution and stricter laws and
regulations – water management is facing major challenges. In order to meet the
increasing demand for clean water and to protect water resources sustainably,
innovations, ideas and initiatives are required.
At this year's IFAT, Siemens will be showcasing how digitalization and
automation are helping to meet these requirements and promote and optimize
sustainable water management.
- Transmission of Profinet IO packets via a private 5G network
- VXLAN as transmission technology embeds Profinet protocol
- Use of a central control system for multiple mobile participants reduces energy and maintenance costs
Siemens enables the transmission of Profinet IO
via a private 5G network, which allows data to be transmitted in real time for
industrial applications. This is made possible by the VXLAN (Virtual Extensible
LAN) transmission technology in the Scalance 5G routers and security appliances
from Siemens. VXLAN embeds the Profinet IO protocol, which is transmitted in
Layer 2, into Layer 3 packets, which allows them to be transmitted across
network boundaries. Since Layer 2 communication now takes place via 5G, a
central controller can communicate with decentralized I/O modules on mobile
devices such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs) via Profinet in a private 5G
network and no local controls have to be used on the individual AGVs. This
saves costs and reduces maintenance. At the Hannover Messe, visitors can see
this innovation at the booth of the organization "5G-ACIA" in Hall 9.
