- Meter Data
Management System enables timely and accurate collection of electricity meter
data digitally
- Technology
deployed for over 200,000 smart meters in North Delhi
- The
implementation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure will play a key role in the
deployment of smart grids across the country
Siemens Limited and Tata Power
Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) jointly announced the successful
deployment of Smart Metering Technology for over 200,000 Smart Meters in North
Delhi. The state-of-the-art EnergyIP Meter Data Management System installed and
commissioned by Siemens enables timely and accurate collection of electricity
meter data leading to increased visibility of the consumer network and
reduction in carbon emissions. The Advanced Metering Infrastructure
(AMI) program is one of Tata Power-DDL’s
key strategic initiatives for the modernization of the grid.
- Siemens Large Drives Applications (LDA) to deliver a high voltage (HV) motor with 105 MW and a 40 MW starting frequency converter for an energy storage project in China
- The motor will have an efficiency of beyond 98 percent
Siemens LDA has received an order from a Chinese customer to deliver a special machine with dual shaft extension. It can be used in motor operation with a power of 105 MW and as generator with up to 129 MVA in power generation mode. The motor will have an efficiency of beyond 98 percent and will be a world-leading 2-pole electric motor.
Beside the motor, the contract includes the delivery of a 40 MW Sinamics GL150 starting frequency converter. This LCI-converter (load commutated inverter) is designed for single-motor applications with variable and constant torque characteristics. As a result of the low switching losses and the low loss thyristor technology, the efficiency of the LCI converter is extremely high and lies at 99 percent.

ÖBB secures
its position as market leader in Europe’s night train business
ÖBB has ordered 20 additional seven-car night trains from Siemens Mobility to expand its Nightjet fleet. The trains are based on the Viaggio Next Level platform. A total of 33 next-generation ÖBB Nightjets will be in service by 2025, providing climate-friendly overnight connections between various European cities. The new trains will attract night travelers by offering higher capacity, even more comfort, and greater privacy.
- Orders of €20.5 billion (Q3 2020: €13.9 billion) reflect strong customer orientation and global economic recovery
- Revenue increased substantially to €16.1 billion (Q3 2020: €13.0 billion)
- Adjusted EBITA Industrial Businesses climbed 29 percent to €2.3 billion
- At 15.3 percent, Adjusted EBITA margin increased again (Q3 2020: 14.3 percent)
- At €1.5 billion, net income nearly tripled (Q3 2020: €535 million)
- Free cash flow of €2.3 billion (Q3 2020: €2.5 billion) again excellent
- Guidance for 2021 raised again – Net income of €6.1 billion to €6.4 billion expected (previous guidance: €5.7 billion to €6.2 billion), including effects in connection with the acquisition of Varian Medical Systems, Inc.
Siemens continued its accelerated high-value growth trajectory across all businesses and regions also in the third quarter. Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and negative currency translation effects, Q3 was characterized by outstanding market successes companywide and positive momentum provided by the global economic recovery. Ongoing supply chain challenges associated primarily with electronics components, raw materials and rising raw materials prices were successfully mastered. Compared to Q3 2020, which was noticeably affected by the pandemic, Siemens achieved considerable double-digit growth in orders and revenue and nearly tripled net income. Due to its strong performance in the first nine months, Siemens is again raising its guidance for fiscal 2021 and now expects companywide revenue growth of 11 percent to 12 percent (previous guidance: 9 percent to 11 percent) on a comparable basis – that is, excluding currency translation and portfolio effects – and net income of between €6.1 billion and €6.4 billion (previous guidance: €5.7 billion to €6.2 billion).
- Each level of the S-building is ventilated using a separate HVAC
system to ensure 100% fresh air
- This system helps the hospital to comply with more stringent energy
standards and ventilation requirements
- Lighting, air conditioning and access control are managed from a
single user-friendly interface using the Desigo CC system
- Technology ecosystem and energy equipment to provide optimum support
for healthcare personnel
Siemens has finished installing a
leading-edge HVAC system in the new S-building which has extended the A.S.Z.
(general city hospital) campus in Aalst, Belgium. The building technology
experts have also supplied the CCTV and access control systems. All air
conditioning, ventilation and security functions have been brought together in
the Siemens management system, Desigo CC. This makes it much easier to operate
for both healthcare personnel and patients, thereby providing more comfortable
rooms and reducing energy consumption at the same time. Siemens is therefore
helping the A.S.Z. in Aalst to meet the Belgian Supreme Council of Health's
increasingly stringent requirements and standards for energy efficiency in
buildings.
