New corporate Headquarters, Munich
After a six-year project period, including three years of construction work, the new Siemens headquarters building in Munich opened its doors on June 24, 2016. With about 45,000 square meters of aboveground floor space, the company has created a modern, inspiring work environment for about 1,200 employees. Environmental friendliness and energy efficiency play a key role here: the new building meets the world's highest sustainability standards. In 2010, Siemens and the city of Munich officially announced the launch of this innovative construction project and organized an architectural competition. The winning design, which was developed by the Danish architectural firm Henning Larsen Architects, skillfully combined tradition with the future. The historic Ludwig Ferdinand Palais and its adjacent building were renovated and seamlessly integrated into the new cutting-edge headquarters. Ever since the building opened in the summer of 2016, its ground floor and inner courtyards – with trees, a café, a restaurant and a water feature – have been publicly accessible. The new Siemens passageway creates a pedestrian corridor enabling Munich residents and visitors to stroll between the Bavarian capital's historic center and its museum district. The project was implemented by Siemens Real Estate, which is a leading corporate real estate company and is responsible for all of Siemens' real estate activities.

People of various nationalities with a wide range of languages, cultures and ways of thinking work together at Siemens. The new corporate headquarters in Munich also focuses on collaboration. Bright and flexible open-plan office landscapes stimulate creativity and foster networking and the exchange of ideas.
Right from the outset, Siemens new corporate headquarters in Munich was designed to be an open, vibrant space in the heart of the city. The building is not just a workplace; it's a meeting place for employees and customers and a welcoming environment for Munich residents and visitors from all over the world.
Siemens is aiming to achieve a neutral carbon footprint by 2030. The new corporate headquarters in Munich is already a model for sustainability. In 2016, it was awarded the "Platinum" sustainability rating by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and the US LEED system (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
One of the main requirements for the architects was that the new Siemens corporate headquarters in Munich should fit harmoniously into its urban environment. The Palais Ludwig Ferdinand on Wittelsbacherplatz was carefully refurbished and joined to the modern new building. Today, the two buildings form a single functional unit.
The new Siemens headquarters building opened its doors in Munich in June 2016. The company currently has around 348,000 employees and operates in more than 200 countries worldwide. To this day, Werner von Siemens' passion for engineering excellence and his drive to create trailblazing innovations and solutions continue to shape the company he founded.
The auditorium, equipped with leading-edge building technology and event engineering systems, can be used as a multi-purpose space. A 13-square-meter full HD LED video screen with two million LEDs ensures brilliant images under all lighting conditions, while 100 high-end speakers deliver outstanding sound.
The offices on all six floors of the new Siemens corporate headquarters are highly functional and comfortable. Individual work spaces are located along the building's glass facades. Electrically height-adjustable desks and back-friendly office chairs meet highest ergonomic standards, while integrated IT and communications systems, acoustic panels and privacy partitions create an environment in which employees can concentrate on their work.
