After the
launch of the PXC4 and PXC5 controllers for the optimized control of small and
medium-sized buildings, Siemens has added the PXC7 to its Desigo portfolio to
offer even more flexibility to building automation practitioners. This new
addition allows professionals to program heating, ventilation and air
conditioning (HVAC) applications for larger buildings. Thanks to its simplified
integration capabilities, the Desigo PXC7 controller supports
system integrators in providing
a complete automation solution.

Siemens
Mobility has completed the acquisition of Optrail S.r.l., an Italian-based
technology company, that provides unique algorithms for Traffic Management
Systems – TMS – based on mathematical optimization methods and operations
research. The acquisition complements Siemens Mobility’s existing Train
Planning System – TPS – portfolio and strengthens its position as a leading
supplier of software solutions to rail customers. Optrail
will remain based in Rome, Italy, and its technology will be integrated into
Hacon’s existing TPS products. Hacon, a Siemens Company, is based in Hanover,
Germany, and an essential part of Siemens Mobility’s software unit.

Siemens Mobility is the system integrator and
reliable partner for on time delivery of the city-shaping project Sydney Metro
– Western Sydney Airport, the new metro railway line that will service between
St Marys, the new Western Sydney International Airport and the
Western Sydney Aerotropolis. The company has been awarded
a contract to deliver 12 automated, driverless 3-car metro trains, a purpose built
depot, the digital rail infrastructure including signalling, electrification, telecoms
and platform screen doors as well as system integration, testing and
commissioning. The company will also complete a 15-year maintenance contract.
Siemens Mobility is delivering the turnkey project as a member of the Parklife
Metro consortium with its partners Webuild, RATP Dev, Siemens Financial
Services and Plenary Group, all with strong international experience in
delivering infrastructure projects. The Siemens Mobility portion of the contract is 900 million Euro.

The
modernization of Line 4 of the Paris Metro has been completed with the highest
grade of automation and the automatic driverless metros have now begun revenue
service. The digitalization
and optimization of Line 4 will allow RATP to safely increase frequency by reducing intervals
between trains from 105 to 85 seconds. Chosen in
2015 by RATP to automate Line 4, Siemens Mobility supplied their digitalized
communication and CBTC signaling systems to modernize the network. After a
trial run with no passengers that began in June, the automation of Line 4 is now
a reality. More automatic driverless shuttles will be introduced into the
line's traffic over time to achieve full automation by the end of 2023.
Siemens Mobility to install a 2,000 km state-of-the-art high-speed rail network that will connect 60 cities throughout the country with trains that can operate up to 230 km/h. The integrated system will create the 6ᵗʰ largest high-speed rail network in the world, and will provide 90% of Egyptians access to a modern, safe, and affordable transportation system. The fully electrified network will cut carbon emissions by 70% compared to current car or bus transport, further supporting Egypt’s efforts in transforming its mobility to a more sustainable one. Siemens Mobility will deliver 41 Velaro high-speed trains, 94 Desiro High Capacity regional train sets, and 41 Vectron freight locomotives. This contract also includes the development of eight depots and yards and 15 years of maintenance.

At the Ligna Woodworking Trade Fair 2019, Siemens is showcasing the Sinumerik MC control as a universal, open CNC system. Its optimized motion control, high-performance automation and the integrated Windows 10 operating system make it the ideal control, especially for wood, glass and stone cutting machines. With its open operating concept, the control system is also suitable for additive manufacturing, adhesive application, plate cutting, straightforward grinding, and laser or water jet cutting.

Siemens is expanding its offering for the "Digital Native" CNC Sinumerik One. Two years after its market launch, the technology company is presenting numerous innovations in hardware and software for the Sinumerik One at EMO Milano and the virtual Siemens Machine Tool Days. In this context, Siemens is demonstrating how the powerful machine tool controller can be used in a highly productive, flexible, and modular way and in the best possible way for digital transformation. In terms of hardware, the new NCU 1740 complements the existing NCU 1750 and 1760 as well as the PPU 1740, thus expanding its use in modular machines.

Siemens Mobility and its consortium partners Orascom
Construction and The Arab Contractors have signed a contract with the Egyptian
National Authority for Tunnels [NAT], a governmental authority under the
jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transport of Egypt, to create the sixth largest
high-speed rail system in the world. The Siemens Mobility share of the combined
contract is 8.1 billion EUR and includes the initial contract of 2.7 billion
EUR for the first line signed September 1, 2021.

A Siemens Mobility led consortium that includes Concord Corporation Pte Ltd. has been awarded a contract by the Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) for the design, supply, testing, and commissioning of the power supply system for the future Jurong Region Line. The system will be designed to be upgradeable, with interfaces for connecting power supply and signaling that will meet industry standards.
