The locomotive leasing and service company Mitsui Rail Capital Europe B.V. (MRCE) has ordered 21 additional Vectron locomotives from Siemens. Ten of these locomotives are of the AC version for operation in Germany and Austria. The other eleven locomotives are equipped as multi-system locomotives and will be operated in Germany, Austria and Italy. locomotives. With the signing of the contract, 70 Vectron locomotives were
immediately called up. The initial call includes 24 multisystem locomotives for
use in AC and DC networks, as well as 46 AC locomotives. With this order, Railpool's
Vectron fleet will grow to a total of 228 locomotives. The framework agreement

- Premiere of the new locomotive generation at DB Cargo
- Siemens Mobility's new dual-mode locomotive makes rail transport more efficient, faster, and digital
- Around 150 "Vectron Dual Mode light" locomotives will enable CO2-free supply chains right down to the last mile
A new generation of locomotives has been unveiled that will make DB
Cargo's fleet more efficient and powerful in the future. The “Vectron Dual Mode
light” combines electric and diesel drive for adaptability in freight
transportation. The modern hybrid locomotive can easily switch between electric
and diesel operations. It helps avoid time-consuming shunting and maneuvering, and
can be used flexibly, with or without overhead lines.
- Initial fixed call for 60 locomotives
- Delivery beginning in 2025
European Locomotive Leasing Group
(ELL), based in Vienna and Munich, and Siemens Mobility signed a framework
agreement for the delivery of up to 200 further Vectron locomotives.
Specifically, the locomotives will be provided in various power system variants
for use in both passenger and freight service. Sixty locomotives were initially
ordered and will be delivered successively beginning in 2025. This fourth
framework agreement between ELL and Siemens Mobility further reinforces the
long-standing and strong partnership between the two companies. By 2027, ELL
will have at least 301 Siemens Vectron locomotives in service and thus operate
Europe’s largest Vectron fleet. Over the medium term, the new agreement offers
ELL the possibility of increasing its Vectron fleet to over 400 locomotives.
