- Siemens technology and capital is aiding 80 Acres Farms and its technology subsidary, Infinite Acres, in expansion to meet global food supply demands
- Siemens hardware and software solutions provide key technologies for 80 Acres' farm facilities and operations via Infinite Acres' Loop platform
Siemens announced its collaboration with 80 Acres Farms, a leader in the
indoor farming industry. With five production farms in southwestern Ohio, a new
farm in Florence, Kentucky, a future farm in Covington, Georgia, and R&D
facilities in Arkansas and the Netherlands, 80 Acres Farms specializes in
growing the next generation of food — food grown in eco-friendly indoor farms
closer to consumers’ tables.
- Design freedom in additive manufacturing reduces carbon footprint of gripper solutions in the automotive sector by around 80 percent
- Decentralized production and optimized factory planning using digital twins reduce CO2emissions during production and transport
- 3D printing with biodegradable materials reduces pollution
At this year's Formnext, the international trade fair for additive manufacturing, Siemens is demonstrating what sustainable additive manufacturing looks like. Using several use cases, the technology company shows how resources, carbon footprint and environmental impact can be reduced. For this purpose, the entire value chain of a product must be considered transparently. Then climate targets can be achieved, and an environmentally friendly industry can be designed.
- Industrial Connectivity Lab opens at the Erlangen site
- Test environment for industrial connectivity technologies
- 5G, WLAN, RTLS, and RFID: Users test application scenarios and interoperability in industrial conditions
The technology company Siemens has opened a new test laboratory for industrial connectivity technologies at its Erlangen site. Embedded in the Siemens Technology Center on the Erlangen campus, the Industrial Connectivity Lab offers 300 square meters of space for extensive testing of any connectivity solution in industrial environments: Industrial WLAN, 5G, real-time localization systems (RTLS), and radio frequency identification (RFID).
- Water model demonstrates the use of digital solutions in real scenarios
- Digital twin in use for more efficiency and process optimization
- Siemens Water applications increase optimization and savings potential in water and wastewater plants
Climate change, urbanisation, water pollution and stricter laws and
regulations – water management is facing major challenges. In order to meet the
increasing demand for clean water and to protect water resources sustainably,
innovations, ideas and initiatives are required.
At this year's IFAT, Siemens will be showcasing how digitalization and
automation are helping to meet these requirements and promote and optimize
sustainable water management.
