April 25-27, 2023Under the motto "Intelligent intralogistics - experience the flow", Siemens will present at this year's Logimat in Hall 3, Stand D11, how a holistic digital twin is developed with the Digital Enterprise Portfolio. Simulation using a digital twin makes it possible to design applications and processes in intralogistics in a highly efficient, flexible and intelligent way. Siemens supports machine builders and operators of logistics centers on the path to digital transformation. The Digital Enterprise Portfolio offers an integrated product portfolio of software-based systems and automation technologies at the center of which is the digital twin. You can experience Siemens solutions and experts in person at the Logimat trade show booth in Stuttgart.
- Trade show motto: "Intelligent intralogistics - experience the flow"
- End-to-end automation and digitalization in intralogistics as a decisive competitive advantage
- Siemens Xcelerator to make digital transformation easier, faster, and scalable
- Highlight: Digital Twin of a real logistics center for more flexibility, higher throughput, and more sustainability
- NEW: AI-based autonomous picking with robots
Under the motto
"Intelligent intralogistics - experience the flow", Siemens is
presenting the holistic digital twin of a real logistics center at this year's
Logimat. The logistics and intralogistics industry finds itself in a rapidly
changing and demanding environment: increasing demand for energy efficiency and
sustainability, the shortage of labor, and cybersecurity threats are just some
of these challenges. With an extensive automation and digitalization portfolio
along the entire value chain specifically for the intralogistics industry,
Siemens supports machine builders and warehouse operators in overcoming these
challenges.

Siemens Smart Infrastructure has launched
Connect Box, an open and easy-to-use IoT solution designed to manage small to
medium-sized buildings. The latest addition to the Siemens Xcelerator
portfolio, Connect Box is a user-friendly approach for monitoring building performance,
with the potential to optimize energy efficiency by up to 30 percent and to substantially
improve indoor air quality in small to medium sized buildings such as schools, retail
shops, apartments or small offices. Siemens Xcelerator is an open digital business
platform that enables customers to accelerate their digital transformation
easier, faster and at scale.
- Innovative woodworking control system
- Digitalization boosts productivity and flexibility
Under the banner "Digital Enterprise – Thinking industry further", Siemens is showcasing an extensive portfolio of innovative control and automation solutions for digitalizing the entire value chain in the woodworking and wood processing industry at the Ligna 2019 in Hannover from May 27-31, 2019 in Hall 16 at Booth C14.
- Infrastructure for private industrial 5G networks with a focus on automation applications
- The solution is already in use at Siemens plants and pilot customers like Salzgitter AG
- 5G is crucial for mobile robots, autonomous logistics, driverless transport systems, and edge devices
For the first time, the technology company Siemens is launching a private infrastructure developed in-house for the 5G mobile communications standard. The solution enables industrial companies to build their own local 5G networks that will provide optimal support for automation applications. "By building their own 5G networks, industrial companies are launching the next stage of connected production," says Axel Lorenz, CEO of Process Automation at Siemens. "5G is crucial for applications like mobile robots, autonomous logistics, and driverless transport systems in factories. Siemens' private 5G infrastructure also gives users sole control over the data in their 5G network at all times, and they can custom-configure the network for their applications."
- New hardware and software available for Siemens' Industrial Edge ecosystem
- Industrial Edge Management System now cloud-based As-a-Service
- Low code for Industrial Edge: Simplifying edge app programming with Mendix on Edge
- Market launch at this year's SPS trade show in Nuremberg as part of Siemens Xcelerator
Industrial companies are increasingly relying on
what’s known as edge computing in their production. It allows them to capture
and process data where it’s generated: at the field level in the plant. At this
year's SPS trade show in Nuremberg, the technology company Siemens is expanding
its range of products and services for Industrial Edge at all levels. This will
allow users to connect their information technology (IT) even better with the
operational level (OT). Industrial Edge is also part of the portfolio of the Siemens
Xcelerator open and flexible business platform.
- Siemens is expanding its ecosystem and is for the first time offering its partners’ solutions specifically designed for additive manufacturing on the Siemens Xcelerator Marketplace
- Castor, EOS, and AMbitious are the first partner offerings that complement the Siemens solutions; they’re appropriate for users entering the field of additive manufacturing
- Accelerate the industrialization of AM with Siemens Xcelerator and easy-to-use, interoperable, and end-to-end ecosystem solutions
Over the last few years, Siemens has successfully built an ecosystem that encompasses numerous partnerships along the entire value chain for the industrialization of additive manufacturing. This includes more than 110 machine manufacturing companies that produce the highest-quality components based on Siemens automation as well as leading producers offering integrated software solutions.
- Unused field data becomes accessible to IT systems with Field Data Enablement (FDE) – without interrupting production or influencing the control system
- No additional sensors or programming are required
- Available as a software and/or hardware solution
In the age of digitalization, data is the new gold. With its new Field
Data Enablement Portfolio, Siemens is now making unused field data accessible
to IT and thus making manufacturing companies more efficient and future-proof.
In many production plants, there’s still lots of hidden potential for
optimization at the field level, for example in automating machines and
systems. Currently only about 20 percent of the total volume of data is used.
Until now, data has been provided to IT systems by the controller, which sends
data from the shop floor to edge or cloud systems. This means data that’s not
available in the controller remains unavailable to IT, such as information
about commissioning. Field Data Enablement now enables the convergence of IT
and OT data with no need to reprogram the controller. This makes OT data
accessible to IT systems that would otherwise remain unused or could only be accessed
with great time and effort and with disruptions in running production plants.
- The
inventions focus on artificial intelligence and sustainability
- €6.2
billion invested in research and development
