- End-to-end automation and digitalization in intralogistics as a decisive competitive advantage
- NEW: Simove for automated guided vehicles and mobile robots with new features
- NEW: Simatic Robot Pick Pro and Simatic Robot Pack AI for robot systems
Following
the motto "LogiMAT 2024 – experience the flow," Siemens is showcasing
its extensive automation and digitalization portfolio for the intralogistics
industry at this year's Logimat. Intralogistics is the backbone of every supply
chain. Increasing demands for energy efficiency and sustainability as well as
labor shortages and cybersecurity threats require efficient and adaptive
material flow technology. IoT-enabled hardware and software from the Siemens
Xcelerator portfolio cover the entire warehouse operation, including receiving,
transport, storage, picking, packing, and shipping. By leveraging
digitalization, automation, and innovative technologies like the digital twin,
Siemens is improving the efficiency and sustainability of the intralogistics
industry and paving the way for a smart, adaptable, and resilient future for logistics
operations.
- Siemens Xcelerator includes selected portfolio of IoT-enabled hardware, software, and digital offerings as well as a marketplace
- Offerings for the machine tool industry part of Siemens Xcelerator
- Software applications for cloud, edge, and own servers with numerous innovations for the machine tool
- First partner applications based on Industrial Edge for Machine Tools, the open ecosystem for IoT
Under the motto
"Accelerate digitalization for a sustainable tomorrow", Siemens will
be demonstrating at this year's AMB how the enormous potential for optimizing
machine tools can be utilized thanks to the continuous analysis of production
data. With the open digital business platform Siemens Xcelerator, IoT-enabled
hardware and software, the company demonstrates how the real world can be
connected to the digital world. Such a portfolio accelerates the digital
transformation and enables flexible and sustainable action both in the
construction of machines and in their application.
As a virtual event, the Siemens Machine
Tool Days provide insights into digital solutions for the machine tool
industry. Keynotes, #HowTo expert panels and practical examples will deal with
digital possibilities for increasing productivity in manufacturing under the
motto "Digitalization in Machine Tool Manufacturing - Thinking further!
Using the Digital Enterprise portfolio as an example, Siemens will show how the
integration of automation and digitization with future technologies such as
edge and cloud computing and artificial intelligence can be used effectively in
every phase of the value-added chain: from building a digital twin of the
product to production and machine performance to digital services.> Register here > Explore our agenda Today, the need for industrial digital solutions is more pressing and more important than ever before. During this event, we want to show how you can benefit from our digital solutions for the machine tool industry - from the Digital Twins of product, production and performance to every aspect of the value chain, including digital services.
- Innovative Veloce CS architecture unifies hardware emulation, enterprise prototyping and software prototyping to accelerate verification and validation cycles by 10x and helps to reduce total cost of ownership by up to 5x
- The Veloce CS software is reusable across all platforms, helping to eliminate new learning requirements and accelerating full system workload execution and debug times by 10x
- Innovative, modular and scalable interconnectable blade footprint eliminates fixed-size chassis, delivering hardware-assisted tools for all size designs – from small to very large
Siemens Digital Industries Software launched
today the Veloce™ CS hardware-assisted verification and validation system. In a
first for the EDA (Electronic Design Automation) industry, Veloce CS incorporates
hardware emulation, enterprise prototyping and software prototyping and is built
on two highly advanced integrated circuits (ICs) – Siemens’ new, purpose-built Crystal accelerator chip for
emulation and the AMD Versal™ Premium VP1902 FPGA adaptive SoC (System-on-a-chip)
for enterprise and software prototyping.
- Robotic fiber placement and 3D printing enable disruptive breakthroughs in today’s manufacturing processes thanks to the advantages promised by Industry 4.0, the Digital Twin, higher robotic intelligence and complex motion control.
Siemens and Ingersoll Machine Tools have expanded their decade-long partnership to support the Rockford, IL-based machine tool company of Camozzi Group on its digital journey of creating digital twins of its products and expanding into new markets. Based upon extensive experience in heavy machine tool building, Siemens cutting-edge technologies in hardware complement Ingersoll Machine Tools’ successful journey into the new market of additive manufacturing and have pushed the boundaries for industrial robots for the aerospace market with its entry-level robotic platforms MasterPrint Robotic™ and MasterPrint Continuous Filament™.
- Intuitive motion control enables a more flexible production and counteracts the shortage of skilled workers
- New Simatic Motion Interpreter software: Program motion sequences with no specialized knowledge
- New Sinamics drive generation completes Siemens’ comprehensive motion concept
Siemens is introducing the
latest version of the Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) portal at the SPS
trade show in Nuremberg. With version 19 of the engineering framework, motion
control is easier than ever. It’s intuitive for non-experts and new users, and
this is crucial for industrial companies. To flexibly manage an ever-increasing
variety of products and cope with the shortage of skilled workers, more
processes need to be automated – and this means that machines and systems and
the resulting demands on motion control and automation technology are becoming
increasingly complex.
- The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft commissions a research factory for battery cells with a capacity of up to 200 MWh in Münster, Germany
- Testing, implementation, and optimization of near-series production under real conditions of battery cells – for the automotive industry, among others
- Siemens is a production and building technology partner in this ecosystem
According to a study by
the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research [Fraunhofer ISI],
battery production capacity in Europe alone will quadruple by 2025 from 124
gigawatt hours in 2022 to over 500 gigawatt hours. By 2030, this figure is expected
to increase tenfold to up to 1.5 terawatt hours.
