At the SPS trade fair
in Nuremberg from November 8 to 10, Siemens will present Version 18 of its
engineering framework TIA Portal (Totally Integration Automation Portal). If
industrial companies are to shorten their time-to-market, counteract the lack
of skilled workers, and remain competitive, they need efficient automation
engineering that can be quickly modified to meet new requirements. That’s why
the new version of the TIA Portal once again boosts engineering efficiency and
offers optimized functionalities for multi-user engineering. This means that
users can now work in teams and in parallel on projects and build and manage
shared libraries. Access rights can be assigned either individually or
group-specifically, which makes collaboration more flexible.

At the
Smart Production Solutions (SPS) fair in Nuremberg, Germany, November. 8-10,
Siemens will be presenting technical innovations and practical examples for
greater sustainability in production. Easier, more open, more flexible and more
sustainable production and planning processes – all of this is achieved through
end-to-end automation and digitization to become a digital enterprise.

Siemens is
launching its new Industrial Edge Management System, an optimized license
management solution as well as new devices and apps at the SPS trade fair in
Nuremberg, Germany from November 8 to 10, 2022. As part of the company’s
continuous development of its Industrial Edge capabilities, these solutions
bring Operational technology (OT) and IT closer together in industrial
production, enabling a seamless flow of data from the field level to the cloud.

The increasing networking of machines, controls and IT systems in industrial plants leads to increasingly complex networks at the production level. To ensure reliable data exchange, high-performance Industrial Ethernet Switches with a high number of ports and data bandwidths are required. To this end, Siemens has now renewed the Industrial Ethernet Switches of its Scalance XC-/XR-300 series and upgraded them with additional functions for next-generation industrial networks. So-called managed Layer 2 switches from the Scalance X Industrial Ethernet Switch product family are now available – both as compact models and as 19-inch variants for control cabinets. The new switches thus replace the portfolio of the current Scalance X-300 series and carry the model designation Scalance XC-/XCM-300 in the compact version and Scalance XR-/XRM-300 in the 19-inch version.

Siemens Digital Industries Software today announced
that it has added scalable, on-demand, high performance simulation capabilities
to Siemens Xcelerator as a Service (XaaS) with the launch of Simcenter™ Cloud
HPC software. As part of the ongoing collaboration between Siemens and Amazon
Web Services (AWS), the new service is hosted on AWS, optimized for Simcenter
solver technologies, and managed by Siemens.

energy-efficient and sustainable drive technology, Siemens is bringing two
innovations to this year's Smart Production Solutions (SPS) trade fair in
Nuremberg. The first innovation relates to the Analyze MyDrives Edge
application, which is already established on the market. This is equipped with
a new feature that ensures transparency regarding the energy consumption of the
entire drive system. The AI-based feature of the Edge app calculates all data
without the need for additional sensors and special measuring devices. The app
shows how efficiently the drive runs, how high energy consumption and operating
costs are and what carbon footprint the drive leaves behind. Drive settings can
thus be optimized even better to customer needs.
