The ‘FIA Mobility Advocate’ combines modeling for mobility, autonomous vehicles, and the environment, with enhanced analysis outputs to help meet current future mobility goals.

Siemens presents the Sitrans CloudConnect 240: a new IOT gateway for the process industry. It provides a second data channel, completely independent of the control system, which is used to transmit data from any HART®-based field devices to the IT world.

Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company has awarded a contract to the consortium consisting of Siemens Smart Infrastructure and Hassan Allam Construction to build the new National Energy Control Center in the New Administrative Capital of Egypt. The country’s new power grid control center will deploy advanced software and equipment to monitor, manage and control extra-high voltage (220 kV and 500 kV) transmission networks and power generation stations across Egypt. The necessary technologies will be included in the new control center for future grid expansion while maintaining secure energy supply, including intermittent renewable energy sources and storage. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.

Siemens is proposing two candidates for election as new Supervisory Board members by its shareholders at the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting on February 3, 2021: Grazia Vittadini (51), Chief Technology Officer and member of the Executive Committee at Airbus, and Kasper Rørsted (58), CEO of Adidas AG.

The Mireo is the new, eco-friendly and economical regional and commuter train from Siemens Mobility, which offers a comfortable and inspiring riding experience. The first fleet has been in operation since June 2020 in the Rhine Valley in Baden-Württemberg and over 180 trains have already been ordered in the meantime.

Siemens Mobility announced today the winners of the company’s Supplier Award for 2020. The award honors suppliers who made significant contributions to Siemens Mobility’s success in fiscal 2020 with their outstanding performance. The award was presented in five categories. Trispel GmbH in Germany took top honors in the category “Technology & Innovation.” The category “Logistics Performance” was won by the Spanish firm Industrial de Transformados. India’s Apar Industries was picked best supplier in the category “Competitiveness.” The winner in the category “Quality” was Germany’s ml&s GmbH & Co. KG, and the special “Moving beyond” award went to Lucchini RS in Italy. Over 400 suppliers were invited to the virtual award ceremony. The awards were presented virtually by Karl Blaim, Chief Financial Officer and member of the Siemens Mobility Managing Board, together with Rainer Straub, the company’s Chief Procurement Officer.

Siemens Smart Infrastructure (SI) has teamed up with Auto-Info to jointly develop a modular COVID-19 examination unit. The mobile lab structure and system have been designed to avoid contamination among patients or from patients to medical staff by using the Climatix IC platform, a flexible and scalable advanced HVAC control solution from Siemens.

Siemens Smart Infrastructure is supplying the first Tier IV-certified data center in the region of Paris, France. The “Thésée” data center will meet the highest industry standards for availability and energy efficiency. Siemens will install its White Space Cooling Optimization (WSCO) smart solution to optimize the building’s energy efficiency as well as the thermal protection of the server rooms by automatically adjusting the operation of the cooling systems.

Siemens has achieved its declared intermediate target for carbon reduction. The company has reduced the carbon footprint of its own value chain by more than half (54%) since 2014. Siemens has thus exceeded – by four percentage points – its goal of halving its global carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 2020. Including Siemens Energy, the company has reduced its carbon emissions by around 1.2 million tons of CO2 compared to its 2014 levels. Four levers are being used to reduce carbon emissions: expanding the energy efficiency program, using distributed energy systems, purchasing green power, and reducing emissions in the vehicle fleet.
