Siemens Mobility today signed an agreement to divest Yunex Traffic, the international road traffic business, to Atlantia S.p.A. The Managing Board and Supervisory Board of Siemens AG have approved the planned transaction. The purchase price is €950 million (enterprise value). Closing is expected by September 2022, subject to the relevant regulatory approvals. Yunex Traffic is a leader in innovative and intelligent infrastructure and traffic solutions for roads and cities. As a global leader in mobility infrastructure technology and services, Atlantia is a long-term, strategically oriented new owner for Yunex Traffic.

Siemens Mobility announced today the winners of the company’s Supplier Award for 2020. The award honors suppliers who made significant contributions to Siemens Mobility’s success in fiscal 2020 with their outstanding performance. The award was presented in five categories. Trispel GmbH in Germany took top honors in the category “Technology & Innovation.” The category “Logistics Performance” was won by the Spanish firm Industrial de Transformados. India’s Apar Industries was picked best supplier in the category “Competitiveness.” The winner in the category “Quality” was Germany’s ml&s GmbH & Co. KG, and the special “Moving beyond” award went to Lucchini RS in Italy. Over 400 suppliers were invited to the virtual award ceremony. The awards were presented virtually by Karl Blaim, Chief Financial Officer and member of the Siemens Mobility Managing Board, together with Rainer Straub, the company’s Chief Procurement Officer.

Siemens Grid Software has secured a new contract with Northumbrian Water Group and deployed EnergyIP® MDM X, part of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio. Northumbrian Water Group (NWG) is enhancing its ability to detect and reduce household water leaks by connecting more than one million smart water meters to a new Siemens data management platform by 2030.

Siemens
Mobility has received an order from MSC subsidiary MEDWAY Belgium NV for 15 Vectron
MS locomotives. MEDWAY plans to use the locomotives for cross-border freight
transport in Europe and also for supplementing container transport by ship in
serving the eastern hinterland of Antwerp.

Deutsche Bahn (DB) and Siemens Mobility have developed the world’s first train that operates by itself in rail traffic. Dr. Richard Lutz, CEO of DB, and Dr. Roland Busch, CEO of Siemens AG, together with Dr. Peter Tschentscher, Mayor of Hamburg, presented the train today as it made its premiere run as part of the Digital S-Bahn Hamburg project.
With the work
inaugurated today, the Rail Service Center of Novara, Italy is a candidate to
be one of the thirteen world centers of excellence managed by Siemens Mobility
for the maintenance of rolling stock - passenger trains, high-speed trains,
locomotives, subways - and the second in Europe for locomotive maintenance
after the Allach factory site in Germany.

Siemens Mobility has been
awarded a €110 million contract by ProRail B.V. to modernize and
optimize the Kijfhoek freight railyard, the largest yard in the
Netherlands and a vital link between the Rotterdam ports and major industrial
areas in Europe. This contract includes
providing a state-of-the-art fully automated system to manage yard operations and
15 years of maintenance services. Located south-east of
Rotterdam, the Kijfhoek marshalling yard encompasses 50 hectares, with 14 arrival
tracks, 41 classification tracks and 12 stabling tracks.

the Emirati capital Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates to Sohar in the
Sultanate of Oman; length of 303km

Siemens Mobility, together with its consortium partner Hassan Allam Construction, is
honored to announce that it has been awarded the Abu Dhabi – Sohar Design and
Build Railway Systems and Integration contract by Oman – Etihad Rail, a joint
venture co-owned by the two countries to deliver this network. Siemens Mobility and
Hassan Allam Construction will deliver the design, build and integration of the ETCS
Level 2 signaling, telecom and power supply systems over the 303-kilometer-long
Abu Dhabi – Sohar railway link. The signaling solutions are state-of-the art and
desert-proof. This project marks the first-ever cross-country railway network in the
Middle East and Arab world.
Siemens Mobility's Vectron locomotives are used for both freight and passenger service. During the development of the locomotive, the focus was on providing a future-proof design, investment security, environmental compatibility, fungibility, retrofitting capability and convertibility. The Vectron can be delivered as a purely electrical version for operating with alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC) power systems as well as a multisystem (MS) variant in the power classes 5.2 MW, 5.6 MW and 6.4 MW. Along with the desired national train control system, the locomotives can also be equipped with the latest European Train Control System (ETCS). The locomotives are built in the Siemens Mobility plant in Munich-Allach, Germany. For freight transport in Germany, Siemens Mobility also offers the Smartron standard locomotive and the Vectron Dual Mode, a combination of diesel and electric locomotive.
