- Collaboration with focus on “glocal” value creation, sustainability, and supply chain resilience
- Siemens Mobility’s supplier network helps generate more than 50 percent of revenue
Siemens Mobility announced today the winners of the company’s Supplier Award for 2020. The award honors suppliers who made significant contributions to Siemens Mobility’s success in fiscal 2020 with their outstanding performance. The award was presented in five categories. Trispel GmbH in Germany took top honors in the category “Technology & Innovation.” The category “Logistics Performance” was won by the Spanish firm Industrial de Transformados. India’s Apar Industries was picked best supplier in the category “Competitiveness.” The winner in the category “Quality” was Germany’s ml&s GmbH & Co. KG, and the special “Moving beyond” award went to Lucchini RS in Italy. Over 400 suppliers were invited to the virtual award ceremony. - Closed system operation for patients and medical personnel’s safety
- Contamination protection with flexible, scalable HVAC control solution
- Compliant with healthcare industry standards
- Easy installation and operation from anywhere
Siemens Smart Infrastructure (SI) has teamed up with Auto-Info to jointly develop a modular COVID-19 examination unit. The mobile lab structure and system have been designed to avoid contamination among patients or from patients to medical staff by using the Climatix IC platform, a flexible and scalable advanced HVAC control solution from Siemens.
- Declared intermediate target for CO2 reduction achieved
- Sustainability index embedded into Managing Board compensation system
- Innovative digital ESG tool provides basis for comprehensive review of
sustainability risks in customers’ business operations
- Top ratings in Dow Jones Sustainability Index, in particular for innovation,
environment and cybersecurity
Siemens has
achieved its declared intermediate target for carbon reduction. The company has reduced the carbon footprint
of its own value chain by more than half (54%) since 2014. Siemens has thus exceeded
– by four percentage points – its goal of halving its global carbon
dioxide (CO2) emissions by
2020. Including Siemens Energy, the company has reduced its carbon emissions by
around 1.2 million tons of CO2 compared to its 2014 levels. Four
levers are being used to reduce carbon emissions: expanding the energy
efficiency program, using distributed energy systems, purchasing green power, and
reducing emissions in the vehicle fleet. Siemens intends to achieve climate
neutrality in its business operations by 2030. The company has recently published these details and other up-to-date information
on sustainability.
-
White Space Cooling Optimization for highly efficient greenfield data center in Paris region
- Intelligent, continuously learning solution to support data center’s 24/7 availability and energy efficiency
Siemens Smart Infrastructure is supplying the first Tier IV-certified data center in the region of Paris, France. The “Thésée” data center will meet the highest industry standards for availability and energy efficiency. Siemens will install its White Space Cooling Optimization (WSCO) smart solution to optimize the building’s energy efficiency as well as the thermal protection of the server rooms by automatically adjusting the operation of the cooling systems.
- Siemens and Merck announce project partnership
- Cooperation will drive forward modular production (Plug&Produce) based on the MTP and POL standard
- Quick adaptation to process requirements with little effort
- A one stop solution with hardware and software components from Siemens
Siemens and science and technology company Merck will work together in future at Merck's headquarters in Darmstadt to develop a technical backbone for the modular production of the future. The aim is to create a production line that flexibly combines various individual process modules and to use Module Type Package (MTP) and Process Orchestration Layer (POL) technology to drastically reduce engineering effort. At the same time, it should be possible to adapt quickly to process requirements. With its integrated product range covering all production levels (field to MES), Siemens is able to provide all the necessary hardware and software components from its own product portfolio.

- Grid edge estimated to be crucial to tackle the energy transition
- Assessment of grid edge readiness and need for 36 countries worldwide
- Results provide valuable insights for governments and industries alike
In the effort to mitigate climate change, global energy markets are changing for good. Energy generation is increasingly relying on renewables, and formerly passive consumers are becoming active prosumers. For this energy turnaround to succeed, the grid edge – the interface between energy supply and energy demand – is more important than ever. Grid edge technologies are crucial to support the energy transformation. They encompass a wide range of technologies, from electric vehicles to heat pumps, solar panels, and smart meters to apps which allow remote control of appliances.
