As a virtual event, the Siemens Machine
Tool Days provide insights into digital solutions for the machine tool
industry. Keynotes, #HowTo expert panels and practical examples will deal with
digital possibilities for increasing productivity in manufacturing under the
motto "Digitalization in Machine Tool Manufacturing - Thinking further!
Using the Digital Enterprise portfolio as an example, Siemens will show how the
integration of automation and digitization with future technologies such as
edge and cloud computing and artificial intelligence can be used effectively in
every phase of the value-added chain: from building a digital twin of the
product to production and machine performance to digital services.

Today, the need for industrial digital solutions is more pressing and more important than ever before. During this event, we want to show how you can benefit from our digital solutions for the machine tool industry - from the Digital Twins of product, production and performance to every aspect of the value chain, including digital services.
- Sinumerik One Dynamics - three technology packages to increase the efficiency of CNC users when programming in the shopfloor and executing CAM-generated CNC programs
- Top Surface and Top Speed Plus for excellent motion control and perfect workpiece surfaces
With the software version NCU-SW 6.14, Siemens is launching three powerful technology packages exclusively for the CNC Sinumerik One. The Sinumerik One Dynamics packages are available in three different packages: One Dynamics Operate, One Dynamics 3-axis milling and One Dynamics 5-axis milling. The software functions contained in the technology packages support users from machine-oriented programming in the jobshop to high-performance machining of CAD-CAM-programmed workpieces with high surface quality.
- Improvement of machine tool availability through predictive maintenance with Analyze MyMachine /Condition
- Analyze MyMachine /Condition for Sinumerik Edge creates a mechanical fingerprint of the machine tool
- Condition evaluation, analysis and comparison of all connected machines using the Mindsphere application
Siemens is extending its edge application Analyze MyMachine /Condition with a corresponding Mindsphere application and thus demonstrating how edge computing and cloud computing can be intelligently combined. The Sinumerik Edge Application Analyze MyMachine /Condition, which the company presented last year at the EMO, uses high-frequency CNC data to create the mechanical fingerprint of a machine tool. In the application, users can capture and evaluate various parameters such as stiffness, friction, and backlash in the individual axes with the help of flexibly configurable measurement series. The measurement results can then be visualized and compared with reference data.
- High-frequency radar ensures
reliable readings in challenging environments
- Optional
HMI delivers easy commissioning and diagnostic
support
- Wide
range of liquids and solids applications in practically all market segments
including energy, mining, aggregates and water
Siemens presents two new additions
to the Sitrans LR100 series of 80 GHz radar transmitters. These high-frequency,
compact transmitters deliver robust, reliable measurements even in the most
challenging environments. Both deliver fast and easy setup. Sitrans LR140
features 4-20 mA simplicity and is configured via Bluetooth wireless technology
and the Sitrans mobile IQ App.
The photo artist Herlinde Koelbl presents her international “Fascination of Science” project for the first time. She portrays 60 renowned Nobel Prize winners and scientists. Siemens Arts Program supports the project. The opening ceremony will take place at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Berlin on October 2, in the presence of the artist and the Managing Board of Siemens AG.
- Sabine Reichel to leave company,
effective November 30, 2020
- Investor Relations to be assigned to
the CFO, effective October 1, 2020
Eva
Riesenhuber will head Siemens’ Investor Relations Department, effective December
1, 2020. She is succeeding Sabine Reichel, who is leaving the company for
personal reasons after the financial reporting for fiscal 2020 is complete. In
recent years, Reichel has carried significant responsibility for Siemens’ highly
successful capital-market communications, which have received multiple awards.
Just last year, she and Siemens’ Investor Relations were honored with the
German Investor Relations Award. Her successor, Eva Riesenhuber, has been
CFO and General Partner at Next47, Siemens’ global start-up unit, since 2018. As
Senior Vice President for mergers and acquisitions, she was previously responsible
for
capital-market
transactions. At the
start of the fiscal year on October 1, 2020, the company’s investor relations
function will, in addition, be transferred to Controlling and Finance, where it
will report directly to the CFO.

- Stock-exchange listing completes spin-off
of Siemens Energy AG
- Transaction shall create long-term
value for shareholders of both companies
- New Siemens AG to have clear focus on
shaping digital transformation of industry
Siemens has completed its structural realignment and thus successfully
executed a key part of its Vision 2020+ strategy concept. This morning’s
listing in the Prime Standard segment of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange completed
the quotation of Siemens Energy as a leader in the transmission and generation
of electrical power. This step begins a new chapter in the company’s history.
The independent Siemens companies Siemens AG, Siemens Healthineers AG and Siemens
Energy AG will work together within an ecosystem of common interests. In each
case, however, they will focus on the priorities and characteristics of their specific
businesses and industries. With some 240,000 employees, Siemens AG will
primarily concentrate on technologies that are driving advances in the digital
transformation of industry, in smart infrastructure and in sustainable transportation.
- Atos to deliver digital, integrated and cybersecurity solutions to support Siemens digital strategic objectives
- Siemens-Atos Global Alliance will pursue joint go-to-market growth opportunities
Siemens AG and Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, today announced the extension of their Customer Relationship Agreement within their strategic partnership, started in 2011. The agreement aims to accelerate Siemens’ digital objectives in the areas of services modernization and digitalization, data driven digital, cloud transformation and cybersecurity. It comes in the context of 5-year total €3 billion agreements which were separately signed with Siemens AG, Siemens Energy AG and Siemens Healthineers AG and include existing services as well as new business. As part of the agreement, Atos will also invest in innovation and digital modernization, in order to advance important innovation topics for Siemens.
- New standard library for shorter winding times at a higher quality
- Can be used for linear winding procedures of rectangular coils
- Engineering and commissioning times of winding machines are reduced
For the faster production of e-motors, Siemens has developed a new application which optimally controls wire tension for linear winding and minimizes fluctuations in force. The Wire Brake software application for automated winding of rectangular coil former controls the tension of the copper wire. In comparison to passive systems, this enables higher winding speeds and a higher winding quality to be achieved. The functionality can be integrated directly into the machine project using the standard library "Simotion Wire Brake" which shortens engineering and commissioning costs. It contains algorithms which include the rectangular geometry of the coil former as well as the "TensionControl" components to control the wire tension brake axis and "CamGeneration" to calculate cams using reference values.
