‘The NANUM’ conducted Bamseom Island Cleaning Activity

‘The NANUM’ Volunteer Corps of Siemens Korea conducted environmental cleaning at Bamseom Island, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on May 24 with participation of about 50 employees by removing harmful plants.
The participants gathered at the southern dock of Seogang Bridge, went through an orientation with safety check and took a ferry to the island. The participants worked about 2 hours on removing invasive plants in order to protect the Bamseom island which is designated as the world’s only urban located Ramsar site. As Bamseom island is a famous habitat for migratory birds with restricted access to the public due to its ecological value, the environmental cleaning activity was even more meaningful. After the program, participants enjoyed snacks and exchanged impressions and thoughts of the activity. In fiscal year 2019, starting from the briquette delivery volunteering and delivery of daily necessities, ‘The NANUM’ Volunteer Corps will continue to perform tailored volunteer activities such as meal serving and more.
