Building Technologies Division signs MOU with KT

Building Technologies Division (BT) of Siemens Ltd. Seoul (SLS) signed an MOU with KT on April 5 at Poongsan building with the purpose of cooperating in “ICT-based energy saving business”. Through the agreement, SLS and KT expect to create new business opportunities to vitalize domestic energy market and expand market share, as well as discover new business areas in energy by sharing technology from KT and energy solutions from Siemens, such as Navigator and Demand Flow.
Currently, KT is conducting integrated control over energy production, consumption, and transactions for over 12,000 sites with “KT-MEG”, an integrated energy management platform. Furthermore, SLS will further search opportunities to suggest application of high-efficiency energy saving solutions to high-energy consuming branches of KT, or a joint business models to save energy cost in deteriorated buildings. Mr. Christoph Aebischer, Vice President of BT at SLS said, “Utilizing KT-MEG, a powerful energy platform of KT, is a great partnership model and an important opportunity for us to apply our know-how in energy solution and to provide new value to our customers”. Mr. YeongMyeong Kim, Head of KT Smart Energy Department also said, “KT and Siemens will create synergy effects by extending their own business fields. KT will actively share its platforms and technologies so that both can lead new paradigm in energy saving business”.
