Double award for Siemens Greece at this year's Health & Safety Awards

Employee Health is a top priority for Siemens

Siemens’ Gold Award in the "Health & Wellness" category is the result of Healthy@Siemens program, a series of initiatives that focus on employees’ psychosocial well-being, physical activity, healthy eating and medical care.
With the contribution and active participation of employees in special workshops, Siemens creates action plans to enhance employee health. Indicatively, the Awareness Speeches are based on needs expressed by employees and their families through the 24-hour hotline, which offers psychological support.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, employee health was also supported by the Virtual Fitness Breaks - fun fitness breaks during which experienced volunteers train employees once a week, and the #Stay_Home photo challenge - which encourages employees to post photos of their work-from-home spaces on internal social media.
Regarding employee physical well-being, Siemens’ running team counts 40 members, including marathon runners - whose participation in marathons is sponsored by Siemens. In addition, on Active Fridays, employees go to the office in their sportswear and start their sports activities early in the afternoon, while Running Weekends are attended by more than 30% of employees.
When it comes to Medical Care, Siemens offers a complete group health care program, free of charge, for employees and their families, as well as free screening with over 25 tests, as well as flu vaccination, to those who wish.
Remodeling workplace in the Covid-19 era
When the Covid-19 crisis hit the European borders, Siemens SA and Siemens Mobility SA created a Crisis Management Team to establish Health and Safety protocols in the workplace and ensure that employees will stay healthy, safe and productive.
The workplace remodeling initiatives also include the preparation of guidelines and rules on Covid-19 and the continuous updating of employees (through weekly newsletters, Virtual Open Talks in which more than 95% of employees participate, Virtual CEO Talks with the CEO - which are enhanced by the use of live poll applications in order for employees to be actively involved, as well as videos and instructions on the prevention of Covid-19 disease on the internal screens of the entire company).
It is important to note that Siemens’ Home Office policy preceded the Covid-19 crisis, while the company has established rules and practices to ensure that employees remain safe.
"Ensuring employee mental and physical health is a top priority at Siemens. This year's Health & Safety Awards double award confirms the importance of the actions we implement. We are committed to support our employees’ health in the best possible way ", said Mr. Johann Goettler, President & CEO Siemens SA Mr. Dimos Sapidis, CEO of Siemens Mobility S.A. noted that " We constantly invest in the well-being of our employees, Siemens’ driving force. The gold and silver distinctions are a milestone, a recognition of our efforts ".
The EHS Officers of Siemens A.E. & Siemens Mobility A.E., Ms. Eleni Papadopoulou and Mr. Evangelos Gianniris respectively, believe that ensuring the health of employees is a non-negotiable priority and that the corporate practices & programs implemented at Siemens put people at the center of these policies.
