Siemens invited to discussions with Rosatom
Siemens has cooperated with Rosatom on several projects since the 1990s. For example, the company provided the safety and operational instrumentation and controls for the Mochovce and Bohunice power plants in Slovakia. Both Siemens and Rosatom are currently partnering with Rosatom’s subsidiary Atomstroyexport on the Belene nuclear power plant project in Bulgaria.
On January 30, 2009, Siemens terminated the agreement for its joint venture with the French nuclear power company Areva. The Areva NP joint venture will thus have come to an end by no later than January 30, 2012.
