New Siemens presence detector boosts energy efficiency without relying on add-ons

More functionality in one detector

The new presence detector brings together both optical as well as technical components. Its multisensory design promotes maximum comfort and high energy savings in rooms without the need for additional accessories. The elimination of superfluous devices meets design trend in today’s properties and creates a visually pleasing environment.

Presence- and daylight-dependent control of lighting systems

All WIDE series presence detectors furnish energy-efficient lighting and climate control. The various sensors afford not only optimal lighting conditions but also the desired climate and ventilation readings. Also, two additional sun protection analysis units and the installed HVAC applications provide presence- and/or brightness-dependent control. The presence detectors feature an integrated constant light-level controller especially suited to open-plan offices or a location with a motion-based constant light-level requirement. Multiple calibration methods ensure optimal use of the sensors wherever they are installed.

Precise energy consumption management

In addition to recording, monitoring and control of energy consumption, the WIDE UP 258Dx1 presence detector has a range that has yet to be matched. The WIDE Dual Tech model, for example, has an ultrasound function that can be used to reliably detect hidden objects, such as those behind partitions in offices. An extensive application program with comprehensive control functions, adjustment and parameterization options offers users streamlined management of building processes and the corresponding energy savings. Installation is fast and uncomplicated because only a single KNX cable is required.
