- Frame sizes 1,200 A, 1,600 A and 2,000 A
- Enhanced safety features
- Fully integrated communication and measurement features
- Smart features for planning and operation
Siemens has developed new, highly flexible
molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) frame sizes for high current applications to
perfectly address the needs of switchgear manufacturers and panel builders in
an environment, characterized by increasing complexity, digitalization, and
cost pressures. The new 3VA UL Large Frame MCCBs enable users to implement
powerful, safe, and smart systems while allowing them to improve and greatly
simplify their work processes. These 3VA UL Large Frame
MCCBs can be used worldwide. The 1,200 A and 1,600 A frame sizes meet the
requirements of IEC and UL standards. This is particularly advantageous for
manufacturers who are producing systems destined for global markets. The new 2,000
A frame is designed exclusively for the UL market. The new frame sizes will be available
in both thermal-magnetic and electronic trip unit versions. Molded case switch (MCS)
variants will also be offered.
- Storage enabled intelligent microgrid concept to accelerate decarbonization and significantly increase renewables share
- Energy storage system enables greater energy independence
- Frequency regulation increases Madeira’s grid resilience
- Plant to provide blackstart capability to the 60 kV level
Siemens Smart
Infrastructure, in partnership with Fluence, are working to help the Portuguese
island of Madeira gain greater energy independence and grid resilience using
renewable energy. Madeira’s energy provider, Empresa de Electricidade da
Madeira (EEM), awarded a Siemens and Fluence consortium a contract to install a
22,5 MVA / 15,6 MVh battery storage plant which will be integrated into an
islanded microgrid concept. The project will enable
EEM to optimize its renewable energy integration, significantly contributing to
increasing the share of renewable power to around 50 percent in its energy mix.
As a result, the island can reduce its fuel consumption over the next two to
three years, while gaininggreater energy independencewithout
affecting energy quality or grid stability.
Cities account for roughly 80 percent of the energy consumed worldwide and generate roughly 75 percent of all carbon emissions. With more than two-thirds of the world’s population predicted to live in urban areas by 2050, cities are coming under increasing pressure. Digitally connected smart cities can help overcome some of the most pressing challenges of our time, including clean water, adequate waste removal as well as reduced pollution caused by buildings. The Expo 2020 Dubai site, with infrastructure connected by Siemens digital technology, provides a blueprint for smart cities globally. As the Premier Partner for Infrastructure Digitalization at Expo 2020 Dubai, Siemens has digitally linked more than 130 buildings at a purpose-built site twice the size of Monaco.
- Corporate real estate management now also for external customers
- Renting, development and consulting in focus
- Intelligent real estate in close cooperation with other Siemens units
Siemens Real Estate (SRE) has been managing Siemens' real estate portfolio for more than 20 years and, as a versatile and future-oriented corporate real estate manager, has repeatedly adapted to the challenges of the market. Effective immediately, SRE will make the expertise it has acquired available to external clients for the first time. Companies that do not yet have their own professional real estate management will thus have access to SRE's knowledge and experience in the three product groups of consulting, renting and real estate and location development.
- Charging infrastructure to power 24 new electric buses for the Ostrava Transit Authority in Czech Republic
- Software to automatically adapt the charging processes to the bus schedules and to optimize energy consumption
- Operations are scheduled to start in mid-2022
Siemens Smart Infrastructure will provide a charging solution for Dopravní podnik Ostrava (Ostrava Transit Authority), which will expand its fleet with 24 Solaris electric buses. The largest order for electric buses in the Czech Republic to date will include four Sicharge UC charging stations from Siemens. These high-power chargers provide an effective maximum of 400 kW each. Furthermore, Siemens will deliver 28 mobile chargers, electrical infrastructure as well as energy automation software.
- Charging, medium and low-voltage technology for two carports at Hamburger Hochbahn AG’s Alsterdorf bus depot
- Space-saving installation as technical center on carport’s roof
- Important step for transitioning to climate-friendly local transport in Hamburg
Siemens Smart Infrastructure won a major contract from Hamburger Hochbahn, the largest local transport provider in the Hanseatic city. Siemens will equip two of the six carports at the Alsterdorf bus depot with a total of 96 charging points as well as medium and low-voltage technology. Operations are scheduled to start in summer 2021. With a total of 240 parking spaces, it is one of the largest and most modern bus depots for electric buses in Europe.
- Aral to install more than 100 ultra-fast chargers at 30 gas stations in Germany until end of first quarter 2021; further roll-out planned
- Siemens to provide intelligent grid connection for growing power demand
- Cloud connection creates transparency across all locations, increases efficiency and reliability
Aral AG, a subsidiary of the bp group in Germany, has tasked Siemens Smart Infrastructure with expanding the grid connection at 30 selected gas stations. The installation of intelligent substations allows Aral to upgrade its gas stations with ultra-fast charging technology for electric vehicles. The installation is expected to be completed by the end of February.
- Load-break switch with vacuum interrupter in secondary current path
- Economical alternative to circuit breakers
- Safety through switching using a consistent operating concept
Siemens Smart infrastructure is continually expanding its portfolio for climate-neutral power distribution. In the medium-voltage switchgear of the blue portfolio, the company has completely eliminated fluorine-based gas mixtures (F-gases) while retaining the compact design and safe, proven operation. An innovative load-break switch equipped with a special vacuum interrupter is the new centerpiece for F-gas-free medium-voltage applications in secondary distribution grids from 12 to 24 kV.
- Charging technology for 37 new electric buses installed at West London depot
- Fully electric-enabled bus garage incorporates power infrastructure, maintenance and charging facilities
- Supplying 11 megawatt hours to 37 double-decker buses daily
In partnership with Tower Transit, a bus operator in London and part of
