resilience
Today, Siemens announced an
investment of US$150 million in a new high-tech manufacturing plant in
Dallas-Fort Worth to help power American data centers and critical
infrastructure. This plant will produce state-of-the-art reliable and efficient
electrical equipment. It will enable accelerated growth of U.S. data centers, which
is being driven by the exponential adoption of generative AI. It will also ensure
secure operation of critical infrastructure. This investment specifically
supports long-term customers in the data center space, where demand is expected
to grow by around ten percent annually through 2030.
- Companies introduce Siemens
Industrial Copilot, a generative AI-powered assistant, designed to enhance
human-machine collaboration and boost productivity.
- Companies will work together to
build additional copilots for manufacturing, infrastructure, transportation,
and healthcare industries.
- Leading automotive supplier,
Schaeffler AG, is an early adopter of Siemens Industrial Copilot.
- In addition, the Siemens Teamcenter
app for Microsoft Teams will be generally available in December 2023 and
accelerate innovation across the product lifecycle.
Microsoft and Siemens are deepening their partnership by bringing the
benefits of generative AI to industries worldwide. As a first step, the
companies are introducing Siemens Industrial Copilot, an AI-powered jointly
developed assistant aimed at improving human-machine collaboration in
manufacturing. In addition, the launch of the integration between Siemens
Teamcenter software for product lifecycle management and Microsoft Teams will
further pave the way to enabling the industrial metaverse. It will simplify
virtual collaboration of design engineers, frontline workers, and other teams
across business functions.
- Ricoh and Siemens start collaboration to develop the solution for aluminum Binder Jetting Technology for mass production
- As the first step of the collaboration, Ricoh has implemented Siemens’ Additive Manufacturing Network to build a full digital process to optimize its internal process and machine management for aluminum binder jetting technology – from print job preparation, through manufacture, to delivery of components
- Ricoh also aims to leverage the Additive Manufacturing Network capabilities to digitally transform its process service provision to a wide spectrum of industrial additive manufacturing focused customers
Siemens Digital Industries Software has today announced that Ricoh have begun
a collaboration to realize the industrial aluminum Binder Jetting (BJT)
solution for mass production. Ricoh is leveraging Siemens’ Additive
Manufacturing Network capabilities to maximize the efficiency of the process
and to achieve the scale required to take advantage of BJT in an industrial
setting.
- New hardware and software available for Siemens' Industrial Edge ecosystem
- Industrial Edge Management System now cloud-based As-a-Service
- Low code for Industrial Edge: Simplifying edge app programming with Mendix on Edge
- Market launch at this year's SPS trade show in Nuremberg as part of Siemens Xcelerator
Industrial companies are increasingly relying on
what’s known as edge computing in their production. It allows them to capture
and process data where it’s generated: at the field level in the plant. At this
year's SPS trade show in Nuremberg, the technology company Siemens is expanding
its range of products and services for Industrial Edge at all levels. This will
allow users to connect their information technology (IT) even better with the
operational level (OT). Industrial Edge is also part of the portfolio of the Siemens
Xcelerator open and flexible business platform.
- Opportunities from European Unitary Patent,
above all, in digital technologies
- Offerings on Siemens Xcelerator platform
can be protected much more effectively with European Unitary Patent
Siemens is
at the forefront of unitary patent applications. The European Unitary Patent – together
with the associated Unified Patent Court (UPC) – started in June 2023.
Since then, the European Patent Office has received more than 12,000
applications for the new European Unitary Patent – most of these applications
came from Siemens.
- Joint commitment to reduce
software’s environmental footprint
- Siemens recognizes
importance of software in order to advance sustainability and aims to invest in
sustainability networks like Green Software Foundation
- Green Software Foundation
focuses on developing energy-efficient systems and infrastructure and aims for
green software to become new standard for the future
Siemens is proud to join the Green Software
Foundation (GSF) as a new member of its steering committee to help guide the
Foundation’s strategic direction. Siemens’ steadfast commitment to resource
efficiency and sustainability aligns with the GSF’s mission to build the tools,
knowledge and best practices necessary for reducing software’s environmental
footprint.
- Festo AX Data Access app available on the Siemens Industrial Edge Marketplace
- Connectivity solution helps to drive productivity and sustainability
- Siemens Industrial Edge Ecosystem continues to grow: More apps from Festo being planned
Siemens Xcelerator, the open digital
business platform, creates an open ecosystem for collaboration between
customers, Siemens, and certified partners, from large technology companies to
independent software developers. Festo and Siemens announced their latest
partnership at this year’s Hannover Messe trade fair. Festo has joined the
Industrial Edge Ecosystem. To kick this off, Festo is offering the Festo AX
Data access app, effective immediately, on the Siemens Industrial Edge Marketplace,
where industrial customers can
purchase numerous apps from different providers. The integrated IoT
solutions based on these apps offer customers greater productivity,
flexibility, and sustainability. Siemens launched the independent, cross-vendor
app store for industrial customers in October 2021. This marketplace is based
on the Siemens Industrial Edge platform. It uses edge computing to process data
right at its source, such as on an industrial PC in machines or plants. Effective
immediately, Festo is offering data-driven AI solutions from the Festo
Automation Experience (Festo AX) portfolio on the marketplace.
