- Continuous monitoring of energy consumption in the terminal building and at the shore power connecting points
- IoT data platform enables data storage in MindSphere and easy remote access
- Systematic energy data management ensures efficient operations
The Port of Kiel commissioned Siemens Smart Infrastructure to implement a cloud-based power monitoring solution for its shore power system. The shore power system, also from Siemens, will cover the electricity demand of all ships at the Ostseekai and Schwedenkai with green power while they are berthed at the Port of Kiel. This saves more than 8,000 tons of CO2 per year. The new power monitoring solution makes it possible to measure the energy consumption in the shore power operations building and at the Ostseekai and Schwedenkai connecting points, and store the data in MindSphere, the cloud-based IoT system from Siemens. The operators have access to all relevant electrical values at any time and from anywhere, allowing them to determine consumption, identify faults, avoid downtimes, and plan maintenance routines better.
- Siemens Smart Infrastructure and Digital Charging Solutions have launched cooperation
- Jointly developed service offers corporate customers access to more than 190,000 public charging points in currently 21 European countries
- Simplified processes for fleet drivers and managers thanks to integrated billing
Siemens Smart Infrastructure and Digital Charging Solutions (DCS) are collaborating to help ease the transition to electromobility for fleet drivers and managers. The initial result of this collaboration is a new Siemens charging service called Enterprise Charging Network. This service provides a simple end-to-end solution for charging at the company site, in the public and at home, thus standardizing the charging experience for drivers and reducing the effort for fleet managers.
- Siemens supports major energy-efficiency project at Coca-Cola
- 13% reduction in energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions
- Better air quality and decreased noise as additional benefits
The Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) production facility in Jordbro south of Stockholm has reached a new milestone. In less than a year, the 70,000 m² plant has slashed its energy use by 13 percent, thanks to a major energy efficiency project executed with Siemens Smart Infrastructure.
- Global campus in Zug to reduce carbon footprint
- Target in line with company-wide sustainability program
Siemens Smart Infrastructure plans to transform its global headquarters in Zug, Switzerland, into a carbon neutral location by 2023. To achieve this, a comprehensive renovation of an existing building on Theilerstrasse 1c will commence in May 2021 for a period of two years. Siemens has earmarked around EUR 63 million (CHF 70 million) for the refurbishment works.
- Stylish design combining black glass and brushed aluminum
- Flexible user interface with a wide range of icons for intuitive operation
- Easy control of lighting, shading and room temperature
Siemens Smart Infrastructure introduces the new KNX Touch Control TC5 room operator unit. It makes passive buildings adaptive, consequently boosting the evolution of smart building technologies. With its individually configurable controls, the easy-to-use device simplifies the operation and display of all relevant functions. Thanks to the capacitive 5.0-inch color touch display featuring a contemporary, attractive design, the new device is ideally suited for use in commercial buildings such as conference rooms, offices and hotels. With its flexible mounting concept, Touch Control TC5 can be used worldwide.
- Building technology installed in all rooms of “The Circle” complex
- End-to-end solution for energy supply of all buildings
- Certified LEED Platinum by the US Green Building Council
The Circle at Zurich Airport is a new 30,000 m2 building complex that features shops, restaurants, services, hotels and a conference center under one roof. Siemens installed over 30,000 components for the building and energy technology of the large complex, making an active contribution to its sustainable design. The company’s technology ensures the daily 25,000 visitors to The Circle experience a safe and energy-efficient environment.
- Bus depot to be equipped with charging and power distribution technology
- 23 charging stations supply eBuses with 150 kW each
- Easy installation of power distribution system in the existing building thanks to busbar trunking technology
Siemens Smart Infrastructure has received an order from the Regensburg transport authority “das Stadtwerk Regensburg.Mobilität GmbH” in Germany to equip the bus depot in the Markomannenstrasse for electromobility. Siemens will supply the charging infrastructure as well as the power distribution technology. Operations are scheduled to start in 2021. Electric buses were first introduced in the city center of Regensburg in 2017.
- More flexibility thanks to KNX communication capability
- Less wiring reduces cost and saves inputs/outputs on the controller
- Ideal for noise sensitive applications thanks to <28 dB noise level
Siemens Smart Infrastructure has upgraded its range of SSA
actuators for small valves by adding new features for more energy efficient and
versatile hydronic room applications. The updated SSA actuators now offer more
flexibility due to their broad control possibilities - from analog control to
KNX communication capabilities for room solutions and fast integration into
connected systems. While using the same cable for communication and power, the
customer saves time and cost. Thanks to the operating mode ‘nightmode’, the
actuators are more silent than ever, with less than 28 dB. This makes them
ideal for use in noise-sensitive areas, such as hotels, recording studios,
meeting rooms and libraries.
