- Equipping the Harburg II bus depot in Hamburg is a follow-on project to the successful construction of three technical centers at the Alsterdorf bus depot
- Infrastructure to establish an electric bus fleet in Saarlouis
- 40 charging points in total
- Charging infrastructure, including planning, construction and connection to the medium-voltage grid
Siemens has received two major orders to set up
the charging infrastructure for electric buses (e-buses) in two cities in
Germany. In Hamburg, Siemens will again support Hamburger Hochbahn AG, one of
Germany´s largest public transport companies, in reaching its goal of operating
a completely emission-free bus fleet by 2030. In Saarlouis, Siemens will enable
the smooth transition to electric buses for Kreisverkehrsbetriebe Saarlouis
(KVS GmbH). The projects include planning, installing the charging
infrastructure and integrating it into the medium-voltage grid. This is
complemented by multi-year maintenance contracts. In Hamburg alone, eliminating
all diesel-powered buses will save approximately 66,000 tons of CO2
per year.
- Sinumerik Ctrl-E in V6.22 with new functions for evaluating and reducing energy consumption
- Flexible HMI portfolio for multifunctional machine tools
- Perfect compatibility in use and programming for easy integration into the existing machine fleet
At this year's EMO, Siemens is expanding its range of products and services with the "Digital Native" CNC Sinumerik One. The new CNC generation from Siemens, which was launched on the market in 2019, comes with numerous innovations in software and hardware. With the new Sinumerik software version V6.22, there are new technology functions for the Sinumerik One that increase transparency in the machine, simplify operation, reduce machine wear, and increase performance. This leads to the optimal use of available resources, for example by reducing scrap and repairs. It also helps to increase machine productivity by minimizing idle and production times, for example.
- Siemens launches study of 1,400 executives globally revealing regional, city and industry insights regarding the infrastructure transition across energy systems, mobility and buildings
- Decarbonization is a top priority within the infrastructure transition, but progress is too slow
- Over 50% of executives believe decarbonization is a competitive advantage, but less than half believe their country has an effective decarbonization strategy
- Technology and digitalization key levers of a successful infrastructure transition
Siemens Smart Infrastructure has released key insights into the divisive nature of the infrastructure transition in a new report, titled “Siemens Infrastructure Transition Monitor 2023: The Great Divide on The Path to Net Zero.” Data from the report reveals that there is limited alignment on priorities and how best to progress towards a decarbonized and resource-efficient world. Whilst more than half of people surveyed believe the infrastructure transition is accelerating in their region, a quarter of participants - senior executives from seven major industry groups - said that progress is “too slow”, while 29 percent believe progress is “coordinated”, and 31 percent describe it as “on target”.

standards for a wide range of applications
Siemens has launched a new generation of line monitoring relays. The SIRIUS 3UG5 line monitoring relays combine proven technology with new functions and applications. The relays are the easiest way to monitor standards-compliant grid stability and quality, ensuring proper system operation and a long service life of components such as motors or compressors. Grid monitoring relays are used in critical areas such as hospitals or the process industry, which require a high-quality, fail-safe supply of power. Other areas of application include cranes, elevators, air, and air-conditioning compressors, as well as the timber industry.
