Digital Industries Software today announced the opening of eXplore Live at The Smart
Factory @ Wichita, an experience center convened by Deloitte that marries an
ecosystem of world-leading organizations with business strategy and
cutting-edge technology to demonstrate Industry 4.0. Located on Wichita State
University’s Innovation Campus, The Smart Factory includes a fully operational
production line and experiential labs for developing and exploring innovative
capabilities of smart manufacturing.

Siemens has acquired the UK-based consulting company Vendigital, which will
become part of Siemens Advanta, the professional services business
unit of Siemens. The transaction was signed
and closed on December 22, 2022.

Siemens announced its collaboration with 80 Acres Farms, a leader in the
indoor farming industry. With five production farms in southwestern Ohio, a new
farm in Florence, Kentucky, a future farm in Covington, Georgia, and R&D
facilities in Arkansas and the Netherlands, 80 Acres Farms specializes in
growing the next generation of food — food grown in eco-friendly indoor farms
closer to consumers’ tables.

The war in
Ukraine continues to force people to flee the affected areas. Low winter
temperatures are exacerbating the precarious situation of the people living
there. To provide further help to those affected, Siemens AG and Siemens
Healthineers AG are extending their aid campaign and will continue to match
every euro donated by their employees to Siemens Caring Hands e.V. Through this
charitable organization, the two companies have collected more than €12 million
in donations so far since the outbreak of the war. These donations have already
enabled various organizations to implement more than 60 aid projects. The projects
have ranged from supplying food and medicine to providing clothing and
temporary refugee accommodation for Siemens employees and their families, and for
anyone in need in Ukraine.
