- RDG200 thermostat now equipped with a built-in CO2 sensor for monitoring and controlling indoor air quality
- Helps provide a healthy indoor climate and a safe place to work
- Achieves high energy efficiency and reduced energy costs
Siemens Smart Infrastructure’s RDG200 thermostat series now offers a model that is
natively equipped with a CO2
sensor and control functions. They allow the indoor air quality to be monitored
and adjusted to ensure a healthy and productive indoor air climate at all times
for people in the building, while maintaining efficient operation. When the air
quality deteriorates because the CO2 concentration rises, the ventilation system
is automatically adjusted and ensures that the right amount of fresh air is
provided to the space.
- California-based Esri, pioneer in geographic information system software
- Geodata combined with Siemens´ modeling and simulation software boosts creation of holistic digital twin of the grid for planning, simulation and real-time operations to accelerate the energy transition
- Complementary product partners are part of the Siemens Xcelerator ever-growing ecosystem of partners to accelerate digital transformation
Siemens Smart Infrastructure has partnered with Esri, the global leader
in geographic information systems (GIS) and location intelligence, to expand
its ecosystem of partners for its grid software business. The partnership
enhances capabilities for the planning, operations and maintenance of power
networks at grid operators by combining Esri’s powerful mapping and spatial
analytics software and Siemens’ electrical topology expertise. In doing so, the
companies aim to upgrade the data flow between applications for increased
planning accuracy and for better operations of the distribution grid. The
partnership´s objective is to improve the admission of Distributed Energy
Resources (DER) to the grid so that net zero can be achieved faster.
Siemens Mobility GmbH achieved the ISO 27001 certification on July 1, 2022. The ISO 27001 certification encompasses 20 Siemens Mobility locations in Germany with more than 9,000 employees and involves Siemens Mobility Business Units, such as Rolling Stock, Rail Infrastructure, Turnkey Systems and Customer Services and all disciplines, including procurement, development, production and project management. ISO 27001 is an internationally acknowledged standard specifying cybersecurity requirements that organizations must fulfill and to which they must adapt. Increasing digitalization brings benefits – as well as the need for adequate protection against cyberattacks. Rail operators face new cyber threats and cyber laws are giving rise to new requirements. Siemens Mobility offers secured products and solutions that are integrated into one holistic security architecture and provide security services. With these, Siemens Mobility secures rail systems from end to end throughout the complete lifecycle. The ISO 27001 certification is another building block in the protection of the entire development and production lifecycle for mobility systems. The ISO 27001 certification is a milestone for Siemens Mobility on the way to digitising the rail industry.
- First order for multisystem locomotives with XLoad equipment package
- XLoad enables significantly higher trailer loads
- Contract includes locomotives and their maintenance
Switzerland’s SBB Cargo International AG, in cooperation with SüdLeasing GmbH, has ordered 20 Vectron multisystem locomotives equipped with the XLoad package from Siemens Mobility. SBB Cargo International will lease the locomotives from SüdLeasing under a long-term rental plan with a flexible term. The contract also includes maintenance of the locomotives by Siemens Mobility. Vectron XLoad is an equipment package developed to improve traction performance and increase trailer loads. With this XLoad option, for example, operators on the North-South Corridor will be able to use only one rather than two four-axle locomotives for a train. The Vectrons are designed for a maximum operating speed of 160 km/h. The locomotives will be delivered beginning in 2024.
- Frame sizes 1,200 A, 1,600 A and 2,000 A
- Enhanced safety features
- Fully integrated communication and measurement features
- Smart features for planning and operation
Siemens has developed new, highly flexible
molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) frame sizes for high current applications to
perfectly address the needs of switchgear manufacturers and panel builders in
an environment, characterized by increasing complexity, digitalization, and
cost pressures. The new 3VA UL Large Frame MCCBs enable users to implement
powerful, safe, and smart systems while allowing them to improve and greatly
simplify their work processes. These 3VA UL Large Frame
MCCBs can be used worldwide. The 1,200 A and 1,600 A frame sizes meet the
requirements of IEC and UL standards. This is particularly advantageous for
manufacturers who are producing systems destined for global markets. The new 2,000
A frame is designed exclusively for the UL market. The new frame sizes will be available
in both thermal-magnetic and electronic trip unit versions. Molded case switch (MCS)
variants will also be offered.
