first fully automated, driverless metro is already a success, with punctuality

reinforces the scalability of Siemens Mobility's solutions and our ability to
help cities worldwide transform urban transit with sustainable and efficient
innovations.”
The project will bring the total length of Line 4-Yellow to
16.1 km with two new stations - Estação Chácara do Jockey and Estação Taboão da
Serra. The extension will make Estação Taboão da Serra the first São Paulo
Metro station located outside the city limits. For commuters, this will
strengthen Line 4's role as a key connector across São Paulo’s metro network. Siemens
Mobility will deliver a comprehensive signaling portfolio, including its CBTC
system Trainguard MT, electronic interlocking, telecommunications, operational
supervision, and GoA4. The interlocking system will be provided from Germany, the
CBTC system sourced from France, and parts of the advanced telecommunications
solutions will come from Italy, with final integration taking place in Brazil. Additionally,
six trains will be equipped with CBTC technology, ensuring seamless integration
into the network.

Line 4-Yellow: Latin America’s first driverless metro line
Line 4-Yellow in São Paulo is a flagship project by Siemens
Mobility. Launched in 2010, it became the first metro line in Latin America to
operate fully automatically. Since then, the line has been transporting around 740,000
passengers daily across its nearly 13-kilometer stretch. It relies on Siemens
Mobility’s advanced Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) technology, Trainguard
MT, with headways of just 90 seconds and punctuality and availability close to
100%. As one of São Paulo's most important transit lines, it connects key
residential, commercial, and cultural areas and helps reduce traffic congestion
in this city of over 12 million inhabitants.
