Siemens Mobility presents innovations and solutions at Transport Logistic 2025
Siemens
Mobility is showcasing its comprehensive portfolio of innovative products and
services for rail transport at Transport Logistic 2025 in Munich. Company highlights
include presentations of the Vectron MS multi-system locomotive, the Vectron AC
with a battery power module, and the premiere of new services through the Smart
Asset Suite powered by Railigent X.
“Our customers expect
maximum reliability and solutions for all areas of rail transport from us. With
our platform products and innovations, we support them in optimizing their
operating processes and expanding the operational capabilities of their fleets.
I am particularly proud of our Vectron AC with battery module. This locomotive
combines cutting-edge technology and sustainability," said Steffen Bobsien, Vice President Locomotives
and Passenger Coaches, Siemens Mobility.
New cutting-edge
technology for sustainable last-mile support
Siemens Mobility is presenting the Vectron AC with a battery power module at the Transport Logistic trade fair. With the module, the Vectron AC can operate over short distances without an overhead power line, offering an environmentally friendly option for covering the so-called “last mile” of transport and performing shunting operations without an overhead line. The required energy is supplied by a high-voltage lithium-ion battery module with an intelligent battery management system for controlling the charging and discharging processes.

With the battery power module, our customers can expand their
range of operations in an environmentally friendly way and further reduce their
CO2 emissions. The unique modularity of the Vectron equipment gives rail
operators full operational flexibility, even in the absence of overhead power
lines. By eliminating the need for diesel-powered shunting locomotives, the
battery power module not only makes economic sense, but also benefits the
environment. The new functional package marks an important step towards
providing sustainable rail transport by helping reduce emissions and noise
pollution.
Operating across
borders
Presentation of the Vectron MS is one of the highlights at the Siemens Mobility stand. Designed for cross-border service throughout Europe, the multi-system locomotive offers customers optimal operational flexibility.
