Bremer Straßenbahn AG (BSAG) has ordered a new tram fleet for the Free
Hanseatic City. The order is for 77 Avenio trams. The four-section trains are
to be delivered step by step for service in Bremen's tram network beginning in
the summer of 2020. On August 30, the "Nordlicht" was presented online.

Siemens delivers an additional ten trams for Bremen
The German operator Bremer Straßenbahn AG (BSAG) has ordered an additional ten Avenio trams from Siemens, exercising an option in a contract signed in June 2017, when BSAG ordered 67 Avenio trams. Including the new order, the Hanseatic city's fleet of Siemens trams will grow to a total of 77. Delivery of the newly ordered trams will begin in 2021.

Bremer Straßenbahn AG (BSAG) has ordered 67 Avenio trams from Siemens. The order includes an option for up to 17 additional trams. The Avenio can clearly be identified as a new member of the BSAG fleet: It features the company's signature bright red paint and references to the linear design and the BSAG logo used on earlier trams.

The interior design allows speedy boarding and alighting, shortening stops at the stations. Large windows and LED lighting provide pleasant lighting conditions. Riders with reduced mobility in wheelchairs or with walkers have spacious areas available at the entrances with convenient seating or room for parking. An electric lift at the second door operates a complete section of the floor.

Bremer Straßenbahn AG (BSAG) has ordered 67 Avenio trams from Siemens. The order includes an option for up to 17 additional trams. Bremen’s tram network is comprised of seven lines with 163 stations and has a total length of 79 kilometers. The Avenios will replace the GT8N-series trams currently in service and will have the type designation GT8N-2.
