In a strategic move to accelerate the digital transformation in Selangor, Siemens has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Government of Selangor to offer technology advisory and consultancy services.
This partnership is geared towards exploring opportunities for the development, support and enrichment of digital transformation ambitions in Selangor, in line with the Rancangan Selangor Pertama (RS-1) framework. The key segments covered by the MoU are:
- Industry: Drive the digitalization and automation of Selangor's industrial sectors with Siemens' expertise. These sectors include Agrotechnology, Communication and Transportation (e.g. automotive, electric vehicles), Electrical & Electronics, Engineering & Machinery, Supply and Distribution of Goods (e.g. ports and logistics).
- Sustainability: Work towards enhancing environmental sustainability in areas such as resilience and disaster management, flood mitigation, water management and low-carbon management.
- Education: Siemens will actively contribute to advancing the education sector in the state, with a specific focus on fostering innovation and leveraging cutting-edge Siemens technologies under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) pillar. This agreement will further strengthen Siemens' existing collaboration with the Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre (STDC), a state government-linked institution, to provide expert training for upskilling and reskilling of industry professionals since 2021.

The MoU was signed by Yang Bhg. Dato’ Johary bin Anuar, Deputy State Secretary of Selangor and Mr. Tindaro Danze, President & CEO of Siemens Malaysia, in the presence of YAB Dato' Seri Amirudin bin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor, and Dr. Roland Busch, President & CEO and Managing Board Member of Siemens AG.
Dato‘ Seri Amirudin Shari, Chief Minister of Selangor, said “This marks a pivotal occasion which can accelerate Selangor’s position to the forefront of digitalization in Southeast Asia. At a time when there is uncertainty for the future of globalization, efforts like these can foster stronger regionalization, to make Selangor a leading state on digitalization and the region’s top state for high-end technical and vocational training (TVET).”
