This MoU will set out the principles and framework of the collaboration with PETRONAS, in working towards enhancing and developing its technical capabilities, research, technology and know-how in the oil & gas industry, and Siemens complementing this effort with its expertise in the areas of electrification, automation and digitalization.
Both parties, through this MoU, will also get to evaluate programmes and potential projects that are mutually beneficial, as well as assess initiatives and activities that will help elevate the national oil and gas industry to greater heights.

A collaboration
between two global conglomerates can spark a game-changing innovation or
solution - for the betterment of the industry at large or as a legacy inspired
by leaders of the companies.
PETRONAS and Siemens
AG today held an exchange ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding, signed
based on customized areas of collaboration that is expected to transform the
landscape of the oil and gas industry.
Under this MoU, the focus
areas of collaboration will be on the pillars of Business Arrangement,
Operational Excellence, Research and Technology, and Talent and Capability Building.
A committee will be
formed to drive and oversee the implementation of the collaborative
arrangements, potential projects and other areas of strategic development
within a 3-year timeline.
The MoU was signed earlier by PETRONAS
Senior Vice President, Project Delivery & Technology Mazuin Ismail, and Siemens
AG Power & Gas Division CEO Willibald Meixner on behalf of their respective
organizations.
Gracing the MoU Exchange Ceremony were
PETRONAS Vice President, Group Procurement, Project Delivery & Technology,
Samsudin Miskon, and Siemens AG Power & Gas Services (Distributed
Generation and Oil & Gas Business Unit) CEO, Thorbjoern Fors. Also present at
the event were other senior officials from both PETRONAS and Siemens.
