Mr Adam Yee appointed as Siemens Malaysia President & CEO

Adam Yee Siemens Malaysia CEO
Siemens Malaysia has announced the appointment of Mr Adam Yee as the new President & CEO, which came into effect since Nov 1, 2019. Along with his latest appointment, Mr Yee will concurrently continue his role as the Head of Digital Industries Operating Company in Malaysia, a capacity that has been under his leadership when the business was previously known as the Digital Factory & Process Industries and Drives division – prior to the global Siemens reorganization that had led to the formation of the Operating Companies structure.  He now succeeds Mr Indranil Lahiri who has since left the organization. This appointment also means that it is the first time that Siemens Malaysia has a local Malaysian as its CEO.
Mr Yee has been with Siemens for the past 17 years, specializing in the electrical and manufacturing segments before moving up the higher management order. He had honed his skills both at the frontline and the back-end of the sales trade, and contributed to the strategic development of customer network. As the Head of Siemens Digital Industries Operating Company in Malaysia, he oversees marketing strategy and business development work through the implementation of various frameworks to improve the company’s sales and market approach. Additionally, he leads the Control Products business unit for ASEAN region.   Under his leadership, Digital Industries was awarded the titles of Best Profits in Operation and Best Performance in Order Intake within two years upon his then-appointment as Senior Vice President & Division Lead.
In his new role as the President & CEO, Mr Yee hopes to continue spearheading the digital transformation journey within the company and for external stakeholders and customers. He said it is important for more manufacturing industries to embrace Industry 4.0 and hopes to vigorously support local SMEs in their digital adoption with plans that are aligned with the government’s Industry4wrdi initiative launched last year. This is especially as SMEs make up 97% of businesses in the country and is the generator of the nation’s economic growth through jobs creation for the people. Mr Yee also has a strong passion to continuously drive education through projects to well prepare students and fresh graduates with Industry 4.0 knowledge and skills – one of such initiative was the collaboration forged with the Malaysian Technical University Network (MTUN) in August this year to launch a Bachelor’s Degree program in Industrial Electronic Automation for students of four select public universities for a start.
He hopes to continuously engage employees in propelling the company forward with crucial direction and strategies, in the eventual departure of the Siemens Gas and Power business that will be carved out into a new, independent company (to be known as Siemens Energy in future) once the exercise is completed on Jan 1, 2020. Notwithstanding this company-wide development, he said his immediate focus will be on supporting the remaining sectors of Siemens Malaysia to chart breakthroughs and growth while seeking to meet all stakeholders soon as a pledge to his commitment of delivering new milestones and expanding the market share.
